Looks like half tang. I could be wrong, but I don't see a rivet at the back of the handle.

It was $9 something on the 5 that me and a friend split an order on.

Pretty sure it is , I'm going to be going with an antler handle on the Nessmuk so I won't be needing a full tang with it.

Going to be hard to hang onto, but sure. ;)

I'll try to find a better pic of that model, but being a flat grind you can't cleanly move the handle position forward if it is half tang. Antler handle is a good idea.

I think you will be happy with the steel. I bobbed the tip on the 6" skinner and really like it. Nice find and thanks for sharing.!

    Update
Tang length is a good bit longer than I had expected.

That has to be at least 3/4!
    Smoking deal on it, too.
You will have fun with that one.
Thanks for sharing. I have seen those before and was curious. Now the mystery is solved

Here is a side by side of two skinners. I bobbed the tip on one and really like how it turned out.
I don't feel I lost much length on the mod.

I had intended to do that but it is quite cold here, been snowing on and off most of the day, I may get a chance to later this evening I'm not sure yet.

I picked up one of those in a trade a good while back to do just that but ended up liking it so much as it was that I smoothed up the handles and was afraid to cut it down.

I pass dangerously close to both Cumberland Trappers supply on one side and right in front of a Cabela's on the other side of the road going to work.
The skinners both came from Cumberland's. I didn't have the heart to mod the first, so I bought another. They both may end up with the tip knocked off.
They are kind of like Lay's potato chips. You can't have just one.

I'm excited to have as close to an original Nessmuk knife as possible. Actually I am working on a Nessmuk inspired kit also.

Here is the knapsack that I sewed up recently.

And an A Field Progress moose pattern knife for my trio that is possibly as old as the 1880s

Have you handled one of the sheep skinners? I have seen pictures but never held one.

While not made from tin I think that the IMUSA / Mainstays grease pot from Walmart would fit the bill pretty well for this after adding on a bail and trimming off the handle. Ace hardware sells small tin pie pans that should nest right inside of it.

I have often thought that the sheep skinner blank would be a good start on a larger size canadian style belt knife.
