The closest to perfect for my normal life is my Fallkniven WM1... probably the 'most carried' of my sheath knives. For a 'you can only have one tool to take with you forever' knife, it's the F1.

Did you get that in the 3g or Vg10 I think the latter is laminated? But I may be wrong-

They're both VG-10. and yes, it's a laminated steel... softer outside, hard as heck inside... great convex edge that will stand up to quartering and skinning a whole deer (not just a 3' cut while field dressing).

So far it looks like my izula2, but i just purchased a garberg in stainless, it may take that slot. Comfort, confidance, and ability are important. Have yet to find a perfect knife though.

That blade looks well used and well cared for. Good job old timer. ;)

I'd really like it if it were my expensive super-steel Böker cause I do love that thing and I can use it well. But, my Izula2 just gets sh** done and done well. It seems to move through material the most predictably and listens to my hand just right. Plus the way it disembowels an apple seems to make it taste better...

Lol, I honestly don't know for sure.
One sale site describes it is being useful as a "skullcrusher, glass breaker, flat tip screwdriver".
I suppose those are all viable options.
I think it's primary use is as a pry tool that keeps you from using the tip of the blade.

Joe, love that knife. I think it's my Grail fixed blade.

The more I think about it, this might be that one knife for me. Feel naked when it's not clipped to my pocket.

This is probably the closest of mine that could meet 90%+ of what I use a fixed blade for. It is not the fanciest or most unique but could be the closest thing to one knife that gets me...despite my wandering eye.

This one made by Ken Largin, I used it to cut my seatbelt when I rolled my truck several years ago. Sharpens fairly easy and has good edge retention. 20190807_203208.jpg

Jeez, if something like that happened to me --I mean actually using my knife in an emergency-- I'd take that thing to the shower with me and every-single-where-else!

All right Matt, i bite. I do not have one but 6 knives that make me all warm and fuzzy inside, they are truly my only six knives and I would be at a loss without any one of them.

Yes its this knife that I asked Brian Sargent to make two of , they are called modal 3G NEW FOLDER 008 - Copy.jpg NEW FOLDER 007 - Copy.jpg NEW FOLDER 011 - Copy.jpg and as far as I know they are the only ones.

The white one is Geezer Ka-Bar USMCs and the other one is mine.

The knife is further made VERY special because I sold it to help Geezer out when he had cancer and when it came up for sale on this forum a BROTHER unknown to me bought it and gifted it to me, that really moved me and I intend to take it to the grave

with me, hopefully a long time in the future!

The G suffix might mean Guard or it may just mean GEEZERS!

Wish it was more interesting but it's my chefs knife. My father in law is a chef and I was a cook when I married his daughter. he gifted me this nice custom 8" chef (440HC I think). When we divorced I took it with me. I would be truly lost without it as it is the only food/prep knife I have used in 30 years.
