I'm sure many of us here have watched the Werner Herzog documentary, "Happy People - A Year in the Taiga." Herzog's version is actually the international release of a Russian 4-part miniseries by director Dmitry Vasyukov, and doesn't contain all the content of the original version.

Well, Vasyukov has made the full 4-part series available to watch for free on YouTube. Enjoy.

This is great, thanks for sharing. I have seen the original, I rank it right up there with "Alone in the Wilderness"
I like all the extra scenes in this one, its funny too how they kind of very gently poke fun/criticize communism.
Still cant believe they just dropped that dude off with a rifle and a bit of kit and said "Have at it comrade, see you in the spring!"

Good stuff and great time of year for a re-watch. One of my favorite winter cold weather films.

    Edit - Thanks!

Actually, this is the original. Herzog created his version based on this.

I don't and it never bothered me one bit. I've watched this version at least twice a year for the last 4-5 years.

Honestly, the videography and topic are so enthralling that narration is unnecessary.

I went ahead and bought the DVD, I was afraid that they would take it off at some point and I would have to track it down.
