Yesterday the forecasts called for coastal seas from 12-16 feet along the coast of downeast Maine. I'm kind of a storm geek, so the worse the weather the more likely you are to find me out in it. I headed out to one of my favorite storm venues, West Quoddy Head State Park, about 40 miles east of home. As things turned out, the seas weren't much rougher than a mill pond, but boy did it rain! The trails were pretty much totally awash. Loving my LL Bean Cresta hikers, my feet were bone dry the whole way! I had the place all to myself once I got beyond the trailhead. This is what I live for. I'll say this, there really is no substitute for proper foul weather gear when it gets serious.
So anyway, pardon the lousy video, I'm planning on upgrading to better equipment soon...

I was at the beach here in MD when it skirted by us. Lots of steady rain and only 30/35 mph gusts is what they were reporting. Your scenery has my beach scenery beat by a mile!

I was up in the mountains 'sleeping' through it. Learned a few things.
