    I don’t see this knife much anymore. What are good sheath options out there? The factory sheath that came with mine when I picked it up at blade show years ago just sucks for carry. I have the HEST 2, with the niolox steel, good steel it seems, a bear to sharpen though.

    Thank man! I could go with either, though kydex would likely offer a slimmer lower profile with good retention. I’m thinking about the possibility of using it solely for a month, and needing to carry it daily.

    Yeah mine came with the Codura sheath in the first link.
    The niolox is beastly so far. I have been working to reprofile the obtuse edge it came with so something capable of being real sharp, and it has taken a long long time. Granted I don’t have a very coarse diamond stone.

    I've kept the blade of mine unaltered. Though I did slip a sparklite, some tinder-quik tabs, and a thumbtack compass into the handle, and a large teklok on the kydex sheath. If I could only have a small fixed blade, it wouldn't be a bad choice by any means.

    Good luck with the sheath hunt.

    @TStilwell

    Had this made a few years ago by @Infidel. Its set up for left or right carry and vertical or horizontal.

    I’m thinking of making something similar to that. Possibly at least. I should be getting my leather working tools back soon. I really would like a kydex option though. Low profile and relatively discreet.

    If you want to see or play with it in person @TStilwell no prob sending it out to you.

    Low pro is what I was going for. This is my “travel/oh crap/ all I have is on me” knife.
    Simple kit under the handle.

    Horizontal carry it disappears, but not a problem vertically either. Just let me know if you want to check it out.
