Recently, I have been speaking with @bsemler about possibly starting some Bushcraft get togethers with various members in the East Tennessee (or anywhere if people are willing) area. The obvious reason being to make a few new friends, share skills, and just getting out and enjoying nature as we all love to do. For now, this is merely a post to generate a list of interested people. There is no set date on when this will take place, but there is no reason there can’t be multiple meet-ups throughout the year.

I have seen lots of people on the forum say they are from the East TN area, so hopefully there are willing participants who would like to meet up. If you consider yourself one of them, feel free to chime in on dates, locations, or other members who might be interested. Thank you!

I have been scouting locations for a possible fall (cooler weather) meetup here in the Chattanooga area.
Always interested in getting together with fellow bushcrafters.

Anytime I'm off for the weekend, pretty much every other for 3 days, I'm good to go.
Usually I bring the wife, @lady beth 1968 and 2 or more friends.

Glad to see so many interested people! I have found a location that would be well suited for a large group of people in a pretty secluded location. It’s ideal for hammock campers and tent campers alike and has a river right by it. Plus, you park right by it. When I found it, I immediately thought how good it would be for a Bushcraft meet up. It’s in the Cherokee Nat’l Forest, Citico Creek area. But again, open to anyone’s suggestions.

I am unfortunately booked up with friends’ weddings and a vacation for the next two months. Obviously anyone on here is welcome to start a get together date for an earlier time, but I myself would be willing to participate in any fall time meet up.

Keeping an eye out. I've been traveling at least once a month for work for the last couple years and that has screwed up my participating in the other meet ups near me but if the stars align, I'm down for it!

I'm your Huckleberry. I have stayed at Blackberry Blossom Campground in Unicoi and it is fantastic. lots of hiking and canoe/kayak activities in the area, fine amenities and very accommodating. very highly recommended -- https://www.facebook.com/BlackberryBlossomCampground/

of course if that's too smooth for most of you I suppose we could find a place to "rough" it...

Don’t think anyone has set a date. I will toss out a weekend for sometime in September, my nearest likely available date. Anyone is welcome to set earlier times.
    How does September 7-9 sound?

I don't know what Summer is like in SE TN, here in SW TN, I don't even want to go outside- Much less to sleep amongst the Mozies! I would definitely prefer Autumn FWIW.

Agreed. Summer is somewhat unpleasant. Come fall and winter I think we should do several meet ups so everyone has a chance to make it to one.
