Is there a chart for decoding the code chart first?
That decoder comes when you buy 100 boxes of cracker jacks..
Pretty good young fellar. Been a ham for years and never saw that one. joe
LOL, I've been CW only since 1966 and still took me about 2 minutes to figure it out so I figure I'm still in the QRS category.
Naw, ya just ain't had enough coffee yet. joe
That is amazing. So simple. I will be printing this and putting it in with my gear.
It really works.
I'm a no code ham, but SOS I do know. Using that, it made sense pretty quick to me.
I need to use this to learn the rest. Thanks.
Unhhh... wait a second... Got it!
Very cool! Thanks!
AHA! Figured it out.
Easy to figure out if you know CW!
That's as handy as an extra set of thumbs...
Thanks for sharing..
-.-. --- --- .-..
I'm not real fast at reading it, I'm only half fast-.., ..-, ....
That is a clever little thing for sure.
I would tell you the easy way to learn code, but I never learned how to use it...
I managed to sustain 5 WPM to get my novice in the early 60s. But never got on the air. No radio.
I have managed a few WPM a couple of times since but gave up.
....but what about lower case letters?
Loud and clear as soon as I heard it.
When I first saw it I thought it was a hydraulic flow schematic for switching over to a ship's emergency steering system.
Yep, those too.
I Can hardly wait to see the number and Q signal decoder charts.
This one has numbers included:
Sorry I asked
This is brilliant.
Ok as a HAM and had to pass 13WPM for my general a few years back, I understand and recognize letters in the chart now, but if I didn't know something already, this chart would be useless.
It really wasn't hard to figure out, was it?
But pretty handy, indeed.
Unless you were trying to teach it to someone or maybe you have cranial flatulism like me!
It appears me and another million kids missed the boat.
I like it, thanks!
I have never learned Morse beyond SOS, so I was very confused. Once I realized I should start where it says "START HERE" (reading is fundamental), and applied SOS, it popped right out. Neat.
I mark my gear with my initials in Morse. I hope in case of theft it will not get marked out.
Thieves might not recognize it as I.D.
Learned morse 3 yrs back, started with charts similair to that one, but quickly realized that they messed up the brain. Might work if you read it or receiving very slow, but your mind will always need to work through those charts to get to the wanted character. Slow and inefficient. Had to put it aside for a couple of months to clear the mind (beer helps), and then went straight into 20WPM receiving using the koch method, which did the trick.
