I saw a critter that's become almost extinct in this area. They were very common when I was a kid. Now they manly only exist in captivity. Very rare to see one in the wild. Here's the pic I got .

That's funny. There is still a pay phone at a bowling alley in my area. One night me and my family were there and I asked my kids if they knew what it was. And they just looked at me with a bit of a blank stare. Sort of crazy how quickly the world changes.

There are a few of them in my town. Kinda wonder if they'll ever mate up and revive the herd...

When I was a kid, almost 50 years ago, there was a line of 5 or 6 payphones on the sidewalk in front of the phone company. At any time of day and through most of the night there was always someone using each of the phones.

That Spec Ops original Combat Master in OD is also a rare species! I have the big brother Survival model in OD for my BBT

Thanks that's good to know. I didn't have a knife to fit it. Picked it up as an ad on to another deal for $20

What third world village is this? Does the local witch doctor use to communicate with the spirit world?

I’ve got 2 within 1/8 mile of my front door. Of course, my town is still catching up to modern society. We still have hitching posts and manure cans and shovels too.

That's a rare variant, since it is devoid of graffiti.

If you are feeling nostalgic and live near a big town, go down to your local jail. There is often a bank of payphones outside.
