Adding a Bark River special edition knife to the auction. It's lightly used, I think, but in very good condition. It's a bit of a larger knife, and it's got an alligator skin insert in the sheath.

Thank you sir. Once again the wonderful members of BCUSA are coming together to honor Ula. When she first needed funds for her expenses prior to a liver transplant back in 2014, the members here rose to the occasion and contributed almost $5,000. We were touched then and we (well, me) are touched now. Thanks for your wonderful generosity!

It's a small contribution, but I'd like to chip in on this. This is a birch kuksa that @T. Pollock did 85% of the work on. I sanded it and treated it with 100% pure tung oil (which imparts a bit of a nutty smell). I have sipped coffee from it once, but it is otherwise unused. Tim filled some small wormholes in the outside of this cup, and the skilled patch work can be seen in the second pic. My finishing job is not stellar, but this should make a very nice cup for someone.

So we got a 100% virgin wool large Pendleton. Great shape except for one missing button on one cuff. May need to be dry cleaned. Mini sawyer water filter, unused, just unpacked to fit in kit. Cheapy waterproof hardcase and l.e.d. light. Mountain hardwear scrambler. Awesome, sturdy, ultralight bag. Well used but great shape, no damage that I can see. Firesteel (ultimate survival technologies?) in hard aluminum case. Used a few times, but tons of life left. Shemagh not included. Will see if I can find any more odds and ends to toss in. Will keep you guys posted. Thanks to everyone bidding and helping a brother in his time of need.

Just for some reference on the shirt size, I'm 6'1", 220 lbs. I have enough room to comfortably fit a base layer and thermal under the shirt and not be encumbered. They are pretty generously cut.

You're very welcome. Had an idea. My brother is a team leader at a major american made firearms producer. I have access to a 50% discount on any gun they produce. I would be willing to work with the winner to get that for him/her, if we can get this over 1k, they're interested, legal, and willing to cover the FFLs.

    Edit: and shipping, i'm broke.
Edit # 2: shipping on donated items is on me. If we decide to work out a deal on a firearm shipping is on you. Sorry about being unclear. Running on fumes atm.

That would be nice. And we should probably update the list of items in the OP so people don’t have to scroll all through the thread to see what’s up for grabs.

Not that I'm aware of. I asked Steve how I could help. His niece set up a Facebook fundraiser. A GoFundMe would probably be better for those of us who don't use Facebook.

Edit: there is now a GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/funeral-fund-for-ula-c-garrison

Yes, it would. I don’t do FB but would certainly contribute to a GFM for the cause.

Thanks for all the donated items and the generous bids.

I'm so busy right now. I drove 240 miles round trip from Salt Lake City to Soda Springs, Idaho to begin making arrangements for her funeral. Soda Springs is where the family plot is located.

If someone would be kind enough to run up a go fund me, I'd appreciate it. Contact me for pertinent info necessary. My mind is about thrashed right now.

I think that families, friends and the funeral homes conspire to keep the survivors so busy and occupied that we are kept exhausted. Believe me, I still have plenty of spare time that I spend blubbering (not a fat joke) my eyes out.

The 'bare bones' funeral will cost just over $7000. This is even with renting a casket for the family viewing then having her remains cremated afterward. I'm not sure if I want her ashes interred in her family plot or keep her with me and burying us both together when I finally pass away. I kind of favor the latter. Her sisters (4) would think this will be so dreamy and romantic. I think it would be cheaper...

I have three nice knives up for auction that I posted last night on the "Prayers Needed for my Wife" thread, page 4.

I have a Fallkniven F-1 in a custom JRE sheath; a Randall Made model 14-7 that was carried in Viet Nam. It has a stainless blade with a silver bolster; and a Matt Paul custom bowie with a pattern-welded blade and green-dyed boxelder bole handle in a custom sheath. This was Matt's personal carry knife. It was auctioned off for $1000 in 2014 when I was trying to raise money for Ula's anti-rejection drugs when we first moved to SLC. The anonymous bidder paid the $1000 then asked Matt to send the knife to me. I swore that I'd never consider selling it except in an emergency. This qualifies, I think.

I don't know how to cut-paste these three pages to this thread.

NOTE: These are Steve's posts and sales. I take no credit for them; I simply copied and posted them here to try and help. OD

The FIRST knife is a 3 7/8" Fallkniven F-1 knife in a JRE sheath with a ferro rod included. The blade is stainless steel. The handle is black kraton rubber.

You knife users can figure what this one is worth. Bids anyone?

This knife has been lightly used and is very sharp.

    The SECOND knife is SOLD!

    My THIRD knife is SOLD!

If we can get this to $400, I'll add a new coyote/orange Koretemp Signal Sack and a sew-on BCUSA patch from Bushcraft Outfitters.

@Outdoor Dauber You rock! Thanks for your technical skills. You have no idea how much this means. I spent an hour looking for a cut and paste feature but it eluded my tired red eyes.

    Thanks again!

The least you could do was to sit back and ignore my plight. Instead you chose to help a brother by using your skills. It's no small thing to me.
