I have money burning a hole in my pocket. I need this poncho.
They are getting made as I type.
I hope they are making a bunch of them lol. This is the one piece of gear on my "buy it now" list as soon as I see it available!
Price Terry on them?
Not sure yet Mike, I will post it up as soon as we figure it out.
Thank You , selling a tool to a next door neighbor tomorrow. The funds go to the new Poncho and bills .
Just making sure you haven't forgotten about us! Any news of when/how much?
Tagged for purchase.
I need this now!!, Can I preorder? Just take my money!!
Also is it possible to Still do a ranger roll with this setup and a woobie, or is the poncho too large?
Totally! Sign me up. I need it yesterday.
Ok, so we just got the new ponchos in today. I will be putting up a new thread with pictures and info on the final product. One thing that could not be avoided wad the finished size, which is 56"X 93". To be honest it is the best we could do with the other additions we put into this product. We have had this project in the works for over 6 months and I am very happy with the finished product. It is a very light weight solid piece of gear that I will be taking with me every time I go to the woods. To answer the big question the price will be $110.
Free shipping ??????
Well the tool I sold will cover $60 of it ! Now to sell my soul lol
Mike, nothing is for free. This is a product that is all USA made and manufactured, we are very proud to say that. I know it is expensive. It is probably out of some peoples price range. I am truly sorry about that, but we cant cut our margins any slimmer on this.
Terry I truly understand, hard to find top USA made gear. The items from BCOF is top notch! I was joking about shipping , I've been in sales for many years and understand it all. I have NO Doubt it's a Top end piece of gear No Doubt!! I have some saved up and when I have it . Terry I'll be owing one . Been looking for a Great Poncho! Thank You for being this to Us and the work you do researching the gear on BCOF! Thank You.
My only worry is whether there will be enough to go around. I suspect I'm not the only one eagerly awaiting the arrival of these ponchos on the site before placing an order.
Enhanced MEST Poncho is now for sale at
Sure to be a Great piece of gear. Hope to see some feed back on these! Thanks to @IA Woodsman for bring them to BCOF and BCUSA, along with many other Great pieces of gear.
Ordered!! Looking forward to it getting here. We have crap for weather coming, could be a good time to try it out!
I have one on the way as well !!!
Thanks @IA Woodsman
They will be in the mail today. Thanks, hope they serve you well for years.
Ordered, along with a few other items. Thanks so much!
Can't wait to see you do a gear report Brother @wrath0r !
It will be in the mail in the morning, thanks.
Nice looking piece of kit. Options are always food.
I like food options too. LOL
Oh I was so happy to see these got added. Just ordered 2.
They will be in the mail today!! Thanks, hope they serve you well.
Arrived today. Great job!!! Now I just need some rain.
Hold on brother! Rain should be there shortly! Lol
Hope you enjoy it.
Took a few quick shots today.
This is with the sides snapped up. You can also see the the hood is a lot bigger than our other ponchos.
Since it has double sided snaps, you can snap the front half on its self and it keeps the poncho gathered around you.
You can do the same with the back half, making a pretty compact rain garment.
For reference I am 5'10" and weight 198lbs
Terry- placed my order; should work out nicely for light & fast travel adventures
Thanks Mike, hope it serves you well in the mountains.
Ha, yeah, so much for typing class. I suppose I could eat one.
But "options are always good" would fit much better there.
Either way, nice poncho with a cool set of features.
Just busting your chops bro. Glad you like the new poncho.
Gosh that was fast. Mine arrived today!
We try to get stuff out the door as fast as we can. Hope you enjoy them.
I got mine in yesterday and I must say I'm impressed. To be honest when Terry first showe'd these I thought that's what I've been looking for. Then I saw the price and said ouch! Slow down big boy. The pictures he posted of it buttoned around him as a rain coat are what put me over the edge though. I paid more for my rain coat and pants than that and there heavier and not a tarp. I wanted something for a compact light shelter option for kayak and canoe camping on the river plus to have with me on hikes.
I was a little nervous about it being to thin but it feels very tough and well made, the snaps are a really nice feature.
Here is a picture of the poncho with a od mest laid on it for size reference. The poncho is 9"longer and 1 1/4" narrower.
The poncho is 108" or 9 ft measured on the diagonal so in a plow point setup it should work for my 6'3" frame.
Here is the stuff sack with the sack from my old poncho laid on top for size. It has alot of room for extras.
Here's a picture of the mest poncho in the old stuff sack with my line kit in it also to give you a idea of how small it will pack down.
I'll stop rambling now, I just thought I'd try and answer a few questions I had before I bought it.
Thanks for looking,
Meeting Creek Knives
Ugh, it is temporarily out of my price range. But I am sure it is well worth it, and I like that it is American made. Who knows, maybe I will find some things to sell and raise the money...
