I took my daughter archery hunting Saturday evening. On the way into the woods, I found several pine knots laying around. The rest of the tree must have rotted away leaving these behind. They were heavy for their size, so I tossed them at the base of a tree by the trail. Picked them up on the way out and split one open at home. Yup, sure enough, the inside is pure fatwood! Probably 1-2 lbs just from those couple knots. I'm heading back this week with a bucket to collect some more.

The top piece in the first picture looks like dry, dead wood and I was going to toss it. I split it open and low and behold, more fatwood!
    IMG_20181008_204245.jpg
This isn't Jawjah fatwood, but for central PA, it's pretty good stuff. Full of resin, strong turpentine smell, shavings light right up with a ferro rod and burn with black smoke. My guess is that it was either a Jack or White pine based on the other trees in the area. I put all the chunks in a grocery bag and put it on the digital scale...2 lbs 14 oz.

It's a Honda Truck that most folks don't believe is a real truck . They came out in late 2005, as the first unibody constructed truck built in America ! They are AWD can tow 5000lbs haul 1500lbs in the bed and you can lay a sheet of 4x8 plywood in the bed lying flat. I use mine to haul a 8x12 cargo trailer or my teardrop that I use for camping , fishing or hunting. Has a two way tail gate , can open like a door or open flat like a regular pick up .

Yup, but I've probably done more with my Ridgeline than 80% of truck owning suburbanites have done with their F150 / Ram 1500 / Tundra / etc. I've hauled our camper, a loaded utility trailer, firewood, logging tools, deer, a bear, etc.
