Wonderful news!! Prayer continues.
All sounds great! Again, trust your docs, more than us internet monkeys. I knew someone that went through this long ago. At that time, they said that (docs, vital signs and generalities considered), that basic, minimal exercise will help you get home faster. One of the docs worded it like "every hour you spend exercising here will be one hour less you have to spend here when it's time to go home".
This is not pumping iron, nor running a mile, nor even doing what you used to do easily. Just plain walking is good. If you try to do a treadmill, one missed step and you fall. Walk simple laps, and stay close to where you can sit or lie down when you want. Drink more water than ever.
When your counts are down, nothing sounds better than sleeping, and you need to do a lot of that. But fight and push, to move more than you want. Set little goals, and better them. "today i walked X amount, tomorrow I will do that and a little more". Count the floor tiles as you walk, count the laps you make.
Here's a weird question: can you sing? I don't mean singing good, or performing, can you sing your favorite song(s)? This helps the mind and the body. Doing it while walking is better, it will make you breath better and harder. Doing it in public is not always the best choice, but try that, as soon as you can.
Good news! Prayer continues.
Any update @Chevrolet4x4s? Still praying for you brother.
I hope all is well @Chevrolet4x4s.
Just found this thread .
BCUSA has become a rather sizable city where you meet a person , share some knowledge or some laughs and then drift apart as you get caught up in some other interest .
I know we’ve had some interaction through the years .
Was that you that posted the redneck
Jacuzzi that time with a blue tarp inthe bed of a pickup full of water ? I got a huge laugh out of that .
At any rate when I see your name posted I think
“ hey that guys one of my friends .”
Sorry about your bad luck but happy about your subsequent treatment and progress .
Modern medical science is just astounding . Sometimes those scientists are not exactly the most charming folks you’ll ever meet but hey that’s ok save your energy for using that big brain to cure me doc .
I’m old enough to see things in half century increments now and the things they routinely cure now a Days compared to fifty years ago are just mind boggling .
I’m glad you have your faith to help you carry on and in a few years I’ll bet this will be a. big bump in the road . Ok a giant bump but the important thing is the road goes on .
Keep going strong brotha!
yes, update, please ...
Still here for your brother. Hope you're well!
I was wondering if anybody had an update on Shane?
Been wondering the same.
Especially true when it comes to cancer treatment. Watching my father in law go through something similar and we are amazed at the therapies. My fervent hope is that Shane has simply been too busy enjoying his post-treatment recovery time in the woods to post here.
Continued prayers Shane.
Sorry for not updating for a while, I have some GvHD which happens in around 50% of transplants, but it can also mean a strong transplant, which I haven't had to have any blood or platelets post transplant. Having stomach / gi trouble from it as well which means I'm back in the hospital NPO and getting nutrition through iv which is helping out, gained a couple pounds back. Thank you so much for the continued prayers. I'll try to do a better job with updates here on out, I'd just been so week from not being able to keep anything in.
God bless you all
No reason to apologize.
This is just a bump in the road.
Concentrate on getting better.
We're all pulling for you and you've been in my prayers.
You're going to beat this!
This x2 well said. Go Shane go! Thanks for update.
Thanks for the update!
Hang in there!
Thanks for the update Shane.
My brother went through the same thing after his transplant. Now 3 years later he's doing great.
Continuing to pray.
Sometimes, ya just gotta center on YOU!
We'll all still be praying for you. It is nice
to hear from you, and glad you're up to it. Take care
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
Prayer continues Shane. Sorry for the problems. Don’t worry about us. An update once in a while, if you feel like it is nice. I was wondering about you. Good to see the post.
Good to hear from you brother and no apologies needed. Just take care of yourself and we'll continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
We aren't going to grow weary in our prayers for you brother, in it to win it. May God bless you.
Sorry we woke you up Shane, just wanted to check on you.
amen, shane. appreciate the report. you've got a big ol' bunch of prayer support here ...
Hang in there buddy!
Best wishes! I hope you continue to get stronger.
Nothing to apologize sir, your focus should be on YOU and healing. Just know that people here are following your recovery and rooting for you all the way.
The traditional Jewish (my own background) saying for this scenario is to wish someone רפואה שלמה ("refuah shlema"), which means a complete healing. So I'll be sending some Old Testament love your way. Can't hurt to cover all your bases, right brother?
Thanks for the update, prayers for you continue....
Still in the hospital for a while, but things are improving. Have been getting to drink a little bit of Gatorade and a little bit of Vital (protein shake) in addition to the IV nutrition.
The doctors were just in and they're going to let me try eating a cup of apple sauce as well and see how that goes;which I'm sure will be about on par with this considering how long it's been since I have had anything that resembles food.
apple sauce. excellent. bet it tastes like nectar ...
I didn’t realize you weren’t able to eat. I bet the apple sauce was great, it looked really good in the picture. Man, I hope you get out of the hospital soon. Prayers continue of course.
Keep posting, we miss you.
Good news, bacon before you know it.
Enjoy the applesauce. Get well soon and keep fighting.
Was the best apple sauce I've ever eaten. Stomach feels so much better.
How long til pie?
Probably a week or so.
Be back to open fire grilled steaks before you know it!
Continued prayers, Shane.
I know how good that apple sauce was, someone snuck a caramel latte into a hospital for me once
May God's blessings be on you.
When my wife had our first baby, I went to Sonic and got her a bacon cheeseburger and tater tots and a malt... sneaked them into the hospital.
I can't take any chances sneaking with this I'll just have to take it slow.
I know, just teasing. I am SO glad you are getting better.
Thank you so much. Once I'm home and off the low microbial diet I'm going to the little diner that caters to work and getting me a Shane Burger. It is a double bacon cheeseburger with chili, slaw ,onions, banana peppers and barbecue sauce ....
Do they do mail-order?
Great to hear you are coming along. Get well quick and back to cheeseburgers and the woods.
Cool that they named the burger after you. Pray that you get back to eating soon.
