After almost three years of trying, my medications and condition are stable and I was able to complete the 3 day class Fundamental Wilderness Skills at Earthskills Wilderness Self Reliance School in Pelzer, SC. It was a great weekend of learning and spending time in nature. The school offers a complete curriculum and I intend to take more classes here in the near future. I strongly recommend this school to anyone willing to travel to Pelzer and can promise you won't be disappointed. (I'm second from right)

Good on ya’. But @WoodzWize , I can’t read the green font you’re using. It just fades into my color scheme.

It's good that you're getting to the woods. Keep it up and keep up the skills you learned, they're perishable.

Just checked out their site. They’ve got some pretty cool courses. The foraging class interests me and its very reasonably priced

Awesome man! I know the battle of finding a medication that works for ya.
I agree with the colour statements. Brutal on the eyes.
    Cheers Jim

    Welcome back to the bush.

Life often gets in the way of us getting out there. I like to believe that the bush misses us just as much as we miss it. When out there it's a perfect symohony of love, respect and humility.

I schedule them in like clockwork . About every 4-5 weeks . Have June and Julys spots already reserved , looking at August and will have it reserved by end of June .

I often have to jump through hoops on Friday to get done with necessary work, and it always seems like the Friday of a camping weekend is an emergency just waiting to happen, but we plow through and are gone even if we don't hit the campsite til 9-10 PM . But if you wait til a convenient time comes up, it often never does .

Fully agree. Can't wait till its convenient. Just go. Few hours, a day or a couple days. Heck even a walk on the trails at a local park is enough sometimes. Though favorite times to go out is when a good thunderstorm is coming in. As I've said before, babies don't sleep as good as i during such times.

We left one trip in a driving thunderstorm . Waited til about 730 PM hoping it would break. It never slowed down . I gave my grandson the chance to back out and he was adamant we were going camping . Drove through rain on the way there so bad cars were pulling over . Had to wait about 30 mins once we got there for a break and set at least enough camp up to sleep . Ended up having a great time. It was summer so we swam in the rain, which he had never done and thought was just cool as heck .

Another trip it was cold and rainy . Like 29 at night cold . Spent the weekend scampering and clambering up and down mild cliffs and rock trails finding ancient shells in the rocks and just having a great time . We ended up creating our own " Rescue Ranger " course ( he was 8 at the time :) ) up and down some somewhat scary slopes that required me tying off some ropes to get us up them . Had the time of our lives and I think he had us run the course 25 times at least .

You take what Mother Nature gives you with the proper attitude and good stuff happens , especially with kids who seem to take stuff like what Mother Nature dishes out in stride .
