For under $10, I thought this has to be a good deal. Unfortunately, they look nice, the flint that is included are just slivers which I didn’t expect much anyway.
However, the striker barely throws a spark, I ordered two of them and they will be delegated to wall hangers as I can honestly say they fall short. You get an odd spark here and there,...

Thanks for the heads up .

My favorite cheap striker is a chunk of old file. Got that info here .Found a bunch of Russian surplus files on ebay. Less than 2bucks a file. Throw great sparks

Probably not going to do that, for $20 it's not worth the hassle. Like I said, ordered two and neither are spark producers. They look nice

I’d give them a shout. I had ordered my dad a stove and then got one for myself with a case. I emailed them and they gave me the add on price for both cases. They seem like level folks. I know the temper of the strikers make a big difference and these could have been from a fluke batch.

If they didn't spark with the chert I sent you, it has to be the striker !!!

It's worth a check, in my opinion customer service should at least look into it.

That chert is made of fire!

I can barely get a spark out of it, the striker I’ve been using until my others get forged, is made from an old file. No comparison in the performance. About every three strikes I’ll get one maybe two weak sparks. The other striker throws them all over the place. Same technique so it can’t be me .
