    Firesteel overlay.
Fun little project commissioned by @stillscout.

Mighty fine little blade is by Jason Mejean at Broke Horse Forge.
@stillscout can tell you more about it.

Black color firesteel overlay to match the black edging & accents on his knife sheath.
Just got in some special Herman Oak holster leather, so here goes the fun part :

Black stitching was removed and the new overlay was clamped around the sheath.

Temporary stitching keeps things aligned on the backside.

Firesteel tube is offset towards the back, closer to the wearer.

Black waxed thread is hand stitched back into place.
Overlay holes had to be lined up with a secondary awl.

Firesteel fits nicely below the draw area so the knife comes out without interference.

Backside belt loop gets black stitching.
Overlay alignement was a bit tricky in the shared holes but we survived !

    Thanks for looking !
