Here's a few time lapse photos of one dozen strikes, captured with a 5 second exposure, with my favorite @AngryDaddyBird snail. And yes, 95% of the rocks at my feet are chert ! The rock used in this demo was picked up and shaped by me just prior to the pics.

These were the players in these amazing pics. Note the severe crushing of the stone from 36 consecutive hits.

I was amazed as well ! I counted out 12 strikes for each 5 second photo ….. I had no idea that many sparks were thrown till I looked at the pics !

Can't see how any tinder could survive. I actually burned my hand through my jersey gloves !

Great pics @svh! You really do live on a chert farm! lol
I will have to try and get some pics with my ADB striker. I actually tried a few weeks ago to directly ignite a jute bird nest with it. I got really close, but I think it needed to be a little more dense. I'll be trying again soon.

Yes I do !!!! It's all well and good till you try to dig a hole, traditional gardening is out the window, and vehicle tires suffer greatly !

I haven't tried to ignite jute, I'll give it a go tonight, and try the time lapse pics again. I did get a jute bundle to ignite with a titanium striker from @Aion Innovation though. I need to post in his thread about that …..

Same here....and that's what got me thinking to try and ignite jute with sparks from my @AngryDaddyBird striker and @svh chert. ;)

I think I end up striking sparks just about every day. I got all kidsof striker prototypes laying around here. I should put it all in one lot and sell it. Or in bunches. Haha.

AngryDaddyBird’s snail strikers are by far the best I have seen. They throw sparks like no other. If he does put more for sale and you are in the market, jump when you have the chance. You will be pleased, I really love mine.
