like i said first zipper sewing on a good keeper pouch made out of some Abercrombie textiles LLC. NC -outdoor furniture heavy material rubberized on one side ,thick stuff , i used double sided tape to stabilize and bend the seam for zipper- cant use iron is synthetic

i have used a YKK 10V at 12" zipper ...some like that ,big teeth ,metal pulley plastic teeth

machine is a sears Kenmore made in japan -terrifyingly fast and strong machine -not good for small projects like this to much speed and i cant give it slow control from the pedal...is just very aggressive ,good for long straight continuous stitching ,but i had to try it ,did ok but my White is better suited for this

    well on to some pics

Add a little bias tape wrist strap of the same material and that would be a very nice man-clutch. For the dapper bushcrafter.

    Seriously nice work though!

    Good stuff sir.

My dad has an old Mongtomery Wards machine with my name on it. I'll be down for the holidays which is when I'll pick it up and maybe get a few lessons while I'm at it. Simpler stuff... straight seams and attaching tie-outs.

He's got some old machines. A few of the newer ones even use electricity. I'll try to get a few pictures when I'm down there.

Impressive thread in a lot of ways.

Because of your singer thread, I stopped by my local thrift store and grabbed an old kenmore (made by whites) from around 55 for twenty bucks. Came with a table in all. Need to find a manual for it, but I did oil it and dust it off and it's running with a kick start.

Have no idea what the hell Im doing, going to have to study up.. But luckily this old machine looks very straight forward.

Those bags are awesome.. How long did it take you to get that good?

Very cool work. I just sewed my first canvas bag last night on my wife's machine that belonged to her granny. Older Kenmore machine. I gotta say I'm hooked.
