So, Amazon had the Mora Companion on sale for 1/2 off last week so I thought, what the heck, it's cheap and I can use a side blade. Well, upon arrival, I decided to let my little boy try his first notch in wood using his new Mora Safe Knife. To demonstrate ahead of time, I thought it would be the perfect chance to try the Companion out so I did. Well, that led to starting a Mors try stick out at the GA Bushcraft campout this weekend. Now, I can't get rid of her since she made these. LOL. I want to keep practicing to get them prettier but I'm satisfied for the first one. Actually, I had to go to a second stick since I ran out of space on the first one. For anyone interested and don't have Mors book, Joshua Suttlesworth has a great tutorial and video on his 7 P's blog. Link will be below.

You're off to a good start. As with anything the more you do the better you get and it is relaxing to sit around the fire doing them, at least to me. joe

I need to take a weekend for some woods time and find a good stick. Been meaning to work one of these out myself. Thanks for the link on instructions!

Great you are getting your little one interested. She is teasing you and when she gives you that first bite you will be hers forever. Good job and thanks for sharing. :35:
