Just received it in the mail yesterday, and the word "impressed" doesn't begin to describe my impressions.
This M5 was originally made for Oldsoul, who then passed it on to his buddy Jkrevette. Between the two of them the knife has seen lots of good honest work, which is definitely a positive feature in my book. Had I received this knife from Terry in it's shiny new goodness I might have been tempted to baby it; thankfully it's two previous owners have removed that temptation, lol.
Steel is 01, thickness is 5/32. Handle is twice-dyed maple burl over burgundy micarta liners, pommel and pins are stainless.
    Scandivex grind.
Granted, I've owned the knife for less than 24 hours, but I'm loving it. The grip feels perfect in my hand, the balance is exactly where I like it, and the size and weight of the knife just begs to be used.
Despite my usual knife trading behavior, I'm going to go out on a limb here and categorize this one as a "keeper".
And that's rare for me, as there's usually at least one thing about a knife that bugs me until I can't take it anymore and it's on the trade blanket.
    Not this time.
    Onto the pics!
And thank you, Mr. Stilwell, for making such a fine knife.
    -Paul

Got lucky today and got in a quick hike before the storm hit. Didn't get to use the M5 on the hike, so when I got back I cut up a 75' hose into 18" pieces to make tree support cables (the hose pads & protects the tree from the cable pressure). No pics, because the sky opened up and drenched me, lol.

Beauty! Terry makes some nice knives. He is making me a model 2 soon, but a model 5 keeps catching my attention so may have to be next! Everyone needs a knife with a pommel plate right?

I know... It's a temporary fix until I can get an arborist out here to determine which trees can be saved and which ones have to go. We got hit with 60mph winds a couple weeks ago and I've got about a dozen leaning spruces.

Oh man, I'm so stoked to see this knife getting the use it deserves! I had quite a few really nice knives back then, and every single time I went on a trip I'd grab this model 5. I *knew* without a doubt it would handle everything I threw at it.

Very happy it found a good home, sir. I look forward to seeing more pics in the future!

Y'all just wait.. I'll save up for some curly Koa and put it on a M5, then I'll have the prettiest M5. Lol. Kidding, I do want to try some of that stuff one day though, it's beautiful.

Hahah!! No fair, I call shenanigans, you have an unfair advantage Terry, as the maker lol! Honestly, no pics I've seen or been able to take do those scales justice. So much depth, and when caught in the right light especially outside....just wow.

The Man Behind the Myth! Charlie, you have my deepest gratitude for having Terry put this one together. And you're right- I can't get any pictures that do justice to these scales.
Good to see you posting again, brother. And check your messages... incoming.

I know, I couldn't keep it though. That stuff is about $70+ a set of scales I think.
