The Turkey Tails were about the size of a large heart shaped Meatball ( 3 " x 2 " ).

P.S.: After boiling the Tails... You do have to skim off lots of oil/fat. :11:

    Today,..I read the below @ Smithsonianmag.com.

Thanks for the link, it was an enjoyable article.
I love exploring other cultures, even if it is only a snapshot.

For the record .. I grew up ( CA ) dirt poor, & ate anything served on the Dinner Table. :32:

My grandmother often told us stories of going to the local Butcher Shop ( 70 + yrs ago ), to see what he was tossing in the Bucket, that day.

She would then buy a Bucket full of " Offal/ Feet / Heads, etc ", for pennies, compared to the " Prime Cuts " of Beef/Pork/Lamb /Goats/Chicken/Turkey.

I can't imagine. I don't eat it for the same reason I don't eat chitterlings, hog feet, neck bone, mountain oysters, brains, eyes, tongue, pig lips, and a lot of other stuff. I don't even like liver.
I have eaten chicken/squirrel hearts, gizzards, etc though. But the rest of the above makes me sick to consider.

With that said if I was jn a situation where I had nothing else I'd eat whatever. But I'm not eating it just for the sport of it, and surely not because I'm craving it.

My wife claims not to eat any of the above .. But, I normally tell her " What do you think ..They make Oscar Myer Hot Dogs & many Sausages out of ....? :11:

They aren't using " Prime Rib & Fillet Mignon "
    :3:

I recently posted a very positive " YELP " review, for a local Mexican Restaurant :4:

Turkey tails are indeed eaten in Samoa. Cheap to purchase and with lots of fat, they are considered a delicacy and are fed to the visiting Peace Corps guest. I know from experience.
