When you have a problem posting or liking a post, please try to remember to post here at that time. I am going to use it to look at the server logs and see what resources are being utilized during that time period. Hopefully, we can narrow this down and correct the issue.

@Guy I just had a issues a few minutes ago. I tried to reply to CW longshot in the Firearms subforum about a S&W and I had to click reply twice to get it to show up in the text box.

Also a few times with posting in the last ten or so minutes.

Would you like us to say what thread and possibly post number?

I think it has to do with the amount of server resources being used. This software system is database driven, so there should never be an issue of only a single thread or forum being affected, since they all reside in the same space.

I had to hit reply three times to respond to you here.

I just thought if we gave you s post number you could see the time and it would help you narrow it down since you said you planned to look up server logs?

    Good idea.

I had problems loading the site for a few minutes as well. I opened MS Edge to try it while Google Chrome was still trying to load and Edge loaded fine. It sounds like Chrome may be my issue for at least a large part of it.

    @Guy
    Just before this post-
    https://bushcraftusa.com/forum/thre...ol-survival-supply.146175/page-4#post-4415232

I got this. It let me hit reply but wouldn't allow me to post. It acted like I just posted but when I refreshed it didn't show my post? Did this twice over several minutes of me hitting reply and retyping and hitting post only to get the same message with no post ever showing up, even when hitting refresh. Third time I went through it let the post.

    Hit post and -
    Screenshot_20190515-183011_Samsung Internet.jpg
    Waited and hit refresh...no post

You can see the time stamp. I'm on central time if that helps any? I was at the gas station and then we had a storm and I forgot to post.

    I was trying to post.

I've had the same problem lately with just about everything I post. The emoji button and like button both do the same.

We have figured out that there are two files that are using up most of the server memory and are trying to figure out what they do.

I get some scrolling bars at times, when liking something, too.

Recently though... when typing a post from my phone, if you double tap the space bar it normally adds a period to start a new sentence. Lately if you do this it will erase the last letter typed and add a period. Anyone else?

Btw... I'm on an android os.

    Thanks.

Somebody broke the internet and for over two hours (maybe three or more?) I couldn't access the site. Other forums and the internet worked fine. The timestamps on threads coincide with that too. Pretty weird.

Sticky post button is really driving me nuts lately. I don't know if the "Wonkyness" is related to the crash earlier or not.

I couldn't get on BCUSA earlier for about an hour plus, just said "server not responding" with each reload. I could get anywhere but here. Seems to be working for at least half an hour now though!

Thanks for the bump - I saw this thread originally then lost it, was wondering what the progress was.

For me, I've also been having these problems and they seem to be getting worse - multiple clicks before it responds, be it likes, posts, etc. Not so much navigating to pages, just trying to like posts and make posts. When making posts, it'll act like it's trying to post, little waiting animation with greyed out post button, then return to state without posting anything. Hitting post again may get the error of having to wait X seconds before posting, refresh often does not show the post going through but sometimes it does result in a double post.

I've been remaining silent figuring y'all new about this and were working on it. Hopefully the downtime last night was due to some sort of fix/upgrade to resolve this?

Looking at the actual server error logs, we are getting over 300 errors per second from the Social Group add-on software. The Xenforo software logs also show SG errors consistently.

I am disabling Social Groups to see if our memory utilization and errors decrease.

It seems to be increasing the more forward in time we go. (Not to suggest we need to go back in time  lol). I don't even know if thats possible but it seems that way. I know the problem isn't easy to find. Only reason I keep posting is so you'llknow whats going on. I know you asked to post each time what thread/post so youd have a time stamp, but its so frequent it'd get silly fast.

Not giving you a hard time or anything, you/they'll figure it out eventually.

    I appreciate the continued updates.

I think we are going to have to bite the bullet and upgrade to the new software and start over with the add-ons. The biggest hog is the Social Group add-on, but the new add-on for the upgrade is supposed to import the existing posts in SG.

Yeah, it's' wonky. For maybe two months now. I've sort of gotten used to it not wanting to load right away, or having to hit the Like button several times before it registers... or when you mark all read and get taken to that small window, sometimes I have to click on it a couple times to mark everything as read.
Windows 7 Pro or 10, doesn't matter. Firefox browser.

Well, so much for disabling the Social Group add-on. I just tried to "like" Ken's post right above mine and had to try twice before it took.

I haven't had any of the problems other have mentioned but I have noticed that most of the time I try to post a pic, it takes forever and sometimes just stops trying to load it. I always size my pics below the maximum in size before posting. I guess it could be a phone issue but I'm assuming it's on the forums end, unless I'm the only one this is happening to.
