Got one awhile back with this was mentioned here earlier. Mine came in excellent condition with a non-serrated blade, which was an option. Good deal for sure.

Honestly..... I do not think it is worth it.
Had one, used it, didn't like it, sold it.

But then again, each to his own.

I had planned on acquiring all the versions, Swiss issue, German issue, and U.S. issue, but a part of me doesn't want to spend more money on more knives right now. On the other hand, who knows how long this kind of deal might last...

    hello,
Along similar lines https://bushcraftusa.com/forum/threads/bundeswehr-taschenmesser-pocket-tool.205506/#post-3491778 I recently received a brand NEW Bundeswehr Taschenmesser Pocket-Tool from Holland. a Veteran friend was over in Arnhem & knew about my old Cold War (souvenir) versions, saw the knife & sent it over. Slightly O.T the present issue over mailing knives. I received the GAK in a plain box, no customs declaration on outer, inner bubble wrap with GAK along with documents. Mailed Dutch Post Office (PostNL) arrived in UK delivered by Yodel (courier service) no problem. :)
    Regards
    David

For $30.00 thats a good deal. Nice knife to have around for tossing in a pack and only one of two knives that I own with serrations the other being a Spyderco, SAK serrations done right IMHO.

There are serrated and plain-edge versions. I got the plain edge.

It is the Victorinox one-hand Trekker, mit out da toothpick and tweezers.

Be careful, there are a few China made copies of that knife out there... the real deal should have the Victorinox mark on the main blade. I note that the photos from the site do not...

The one I received in marked Victorinox and certainly seems to be that. Further, this is a reputable company.

If it's not as represented, the seller has committed Wire Fraud, a federal felony punishable by up to twenty years in federal prison, and the feds don't do time off for good behavior or any sort of parole.

EDIT: reference to the law is merely to show why a reputable seller would not do such a thing NOT to suggest wrongdoing.

Many have taken advantage of this deal, and no one who bought one has questioned that this knife is the genuine, military surplus article.

Hey Buddy, these are the real deal. If you have any questions for us about the authenticity of the knives we're selling, or need closer pictures, just say so. I'm right here, supporting the forum. You can get ahold of me anytime.

I have the Vic OHT, serrated blade... picked it up on clearance at a local store, about $16. It's nice... but a bit heavy for pocket carry for me.

I'm glad to hear you all got the real thing...
I was not bashing this source specifically, I have not ordered from them before...
I just wanted to warn about the copies floating around... I have fallen for the "great deal" myself from another source.

Yup, these are inexpensive because they've been put through the paces by a bunch of young men in the German army. The ones we're selling are in good condition, but are definitely used.

I also have a stack of these Trekkers that I sifted out because they've taken a beating and aren't sellable even at this price. The blades on these have enough damage that they'd be tough to use without some serious work. Not sure what to do with them. You can see what I'm talking about here:

Looking at my own knife I don't see how, but could you disassemble these and use the parts as replacements?

Pretty clearly not made for routine disassembly.

miltitool.org is a site for fans of such tools. maybe they can help.

Cautionary tale: "I warmed the scales gently with a hair dryer [to loosen the plastic scales] and they removed fine with zero damage. I have an idea where that little spring landed but I havent found it yet."

I can't make 'em worse. I think I'll try converting one of these to plain edge. @Unistat76 has done it and had good success.

Sell them in bulk to the person (top 3?) with the best mod idea. And of course they have to have the tools to execute.

I've always wondered if it would be possible to take the blade lock idea from the one handed line and incorporate it into a Alox farmer?
