The eagle was cool as he flew over looking for minnows and fish left on the ice

Awesome that you still have good ice! Nice kettle of fish. Most of the water was open around here a couple of weeks ago and then glazed over recently. Unsafe for ice fishing anymore this season (Central Minnesota). Heck, I put all that tackle away yesterday and pulled out a boat from storage to putz on. Maybe I should have headed your way with my ice fishing gear. What kind of ice were you finding?

Wow. Nice. That's still drivable (within reason). I was picturing 4" to 6" walk-on stuff. Good to see you taking advantage of it.

I haven't been out recently, but some guys I know are out on Chequamegon bay, lake superior today and tomorrow. They were running ATVs out there a couple days ago, and a couple goofballs were still using trucks, but I wouldn't.

Still have about 18" of ice on Worromontogus Lake in Augusta, Maine. Haven't been able to fish for last month, but maybe this Sunday when I return. We're allowed 2 brook trout per person per day. We also catch white & yellow perch, Sunfish, Pumpkinseed, large mouth & smallmouth bass, and pickerel. Less often brown trout, but according to biologist they haven't been surviving. I'll get my limit on the brookies, and if I can a large pickerel I'll keep it. Otherwise it lays on the ice for the eagles. I quite like pickerel. Great for fish fries.

This was going to be the year I tried ice fishing and of course it was a warmer than normal winter, NO ICE. I guess that bucket list sport will just have to wait another year.
