A buddy who black smiths cranked out a few of these. I bought one a little bigger than this one. You can cut toggles to fit the rings. It's much more packable than my shop draw knife and great when I get feeling bushcraft on a walk about. I just need to get out and make something now. 20190817_123915.jpg

Sweet. I am guessing a Pinch grip? Though those rings look like you might pull from some wrist straps and use the pinch to set the angle.

Please post pics of it in action.
    Thanks.

There was a vendor here that made some mini draw knives, thoug they were a slightly different design. I still need to get one some day.

That's a nice little tool for sure. It seems like for most work, I don't use a large portion of the sharpened edge of a drawknife, just a small section that intersects the circular shape of the wood, so that would be pretty useful. I've made a few in the past. Symmetry is always the challenge. Might do some again. Have to see that comes to mind when I'm at the forge.

I’ve made 3 or 4 full size drawknives out of 5160 spring steel coils but never one that small. Challenge accepted.

I’ve got some 1/4” x 3” 1084 bar. I’m thinking 1” of it would do nicely for making one of these.

That's cool. I've used an ordinary knife as a drawknife by sinking the tip in a piece of wood for a handle, but I've never seen a small drawknife.

Seems like something around that size could be made with a radius specific for axe handles.
And that would interest me greatly.
