Anyone with experience with this model? I was thinking of one today after doing doing a group with my 4.0 xds and looking at my difference between rested vs offhand , and thinking back to my difference between LCRx rested vs offhand.

Not me.... XDe was on my short list but I found a grail gun, CZ75 Omega, and went with that.

I did handle one quite a bit but would also like to hear if anyone's got some miles on with their XDe.

I would assume it would shoot better in SA than a DAO gun. I've handled it and thats about t.

they have the gear up thing going on maybe I should just get the 45 acp 3.3 as I don't have a short 45 in inventory.

The 4.5 9mm looks sweeet to me but no gear up deal for that one currently.

The xds I haven't hear much bad about them I imagine the xde probably is also a pretty long live gun. Unless of course you dont like xd's of any flavor of course (i've actually never target shot with a double stack one, I only shot one in a cpl course years ago. )

The XDs 2.0 .45 shoots great. Unlike the double stack Mod2 (which was awesome) the XDs 2.0 didn't fit my fingers. The finger groove was slightly in the wrong place, otherwise I would still have it. I traded it for the Shield 2.0 which shot the same, but the texture was rough on my side.

    Both excellent shooters and recoil.

I haven't load tested any mod 2 xds yet but if the barrel process is the same as the mod 1's they should be shooters. All my hammer guns (besides lcrx, naa black widow, hogleg) are not great shooters (I did just do around a 1 k order and maybe some of those will be good shooters) I have more striker guns and the vast majority of them are 9mm, I don't really have a short 45 acp besides my old governor.... I don't have a massive collection though. But the thought occured to me about the xde with the good barrels ive seen on those croatian pistols and maybe a better trigger might lead to me having less of a difference between offhand shooting and rested shooting.

That said the offhand group above with umc115jhp is better then some pistols can do in a session of rested load testing.....

Right now I had to sell everything but my G26, G45, and LCP2. I will have one when/if I get back on my feet.

I was less than impressed with the whole XD series.

Nothing wrong with them functionally. Just not my cup of tea.

How so ? And how so with the xde series ? And what single stack double single action hammer would you recommend instead ?

For me, the grip stippling was too aggressive. And I don't like the trigger blade.

    I'd recommend a Kahr CW45 or CT45.

ETA: just realized those are both DAO, so nevermind.

I’ve shot one kahr Dave’s 45 and it seemed to have a good barrel . I only did one load at 100 but it seemed to have some potential !!

used the single action on jeffs security load testing at 100

Larry's 45 mod 1 xds at 100 rested why I think the xde might have some potential
