Nice photo! Interesting pocket knife. What make and model is that? Looks like a case?
Ordered the cup and lid yesterday. Really looking forward to this one. I plan integrating it in my kit right away and putting it to use on my next trip in the near future.
HC cup and lid arrived today. Washed it up and slipped it in with the rest of the kit. Took a picture while I had it all out.
A little supper on the last outing, aluminum foil is for the hot dog chili.
How is the foil used to make the chili?
Used it as a double boiler, water in the bottom and the chili was in the aluminum foil about 1/2 way down, much easier to clean up and no burned sauce

Oh my. This this stuff is potent.
The cup/lid: Heavy Cover Titanium. The fuel is Firedragon, which is manufactured by BCB. The stove is a modified USGI Type II stand. And the contents, 16 oz of water.
There was no unpleasant odor when I opened the blister pack containing the fuel cube. It is a solid cube, very reminiscent of candle wax and labeled, "green and clean." There was not a very noticable scent while burning, but there was a slight odor after it went out; somewhat similar to a candle having been extinguished.
Some pretty intense flamage.
And the aftermath: There wasn't any smoke and I did this enclosed in my garage to get an idea of the possible smell. The fuel did leave a bit of a waxy residue on the stand and on the floor, but I did not detect any residue or soot on the bottom of the cup.
I suspect the residue is a result of solidifiers in the fuel. There is also a gel form available that comes in bottles. I imagine the gel would leave less, or possibly no residue.
In conclusion, the water didn't boil, but certainly got plenty hot rather quickly. I think the cubes would potentially be more effective if contained a bit better during the burn. A much cleaner burn compared to other solid fuel, but a bit on the pricey side.
Now for some post workout tea...
I was out on the Isle of Mull recently with work and took the opportunity to get up on the north coast. I have a regular little spot there I use when I visit every 4 - 6 weeks. My Jetboil copy gave out on me but thankfully we've had a heatwave so I was able to gather some sticks to make a fire and cook some retort food. It tasted all the better for being done over a real fire. Canteen worked great.
Anyone have any news on the new messkits. Been over a month since the announcement and I haven't gotten any replys when asking about it.
What new mess kit do you speak of?
It's in their Instagram, it's a titanium cup, pot with basil and lid. Someone posted it on this thread I think within the last few pages. It looks amazing and they said coming within a couple of weeks. Its like 4-5 weeks no release.
I've seen Keith are now doing a 'nalgene' shaped bottle at 1200ml with screw top lid. I've been trying to ask them which of their mugs would be suitable to put on the outside, alas the language is a barrier.
Meaning : Oasis canteenish w/no perimeter seam protruding, or a round bottle?
If shaped like Oasis canteen :
“Take my money, leave me nothin’ but a smile!”
Bingo! Just no updates on it.
you can and swim with HC is fun
wherever I am, I always have a canteen and a cup with me
Will these fit in the side pouch of a Continental Rucksack?
Went to kings island yesterday, and was carrying the mother carrier and HC Canteen all day They have metal detectors and security posted everywhere at the entrance When we got there and went through the guard looked at it, then me, then back at it and said, “have a good day.”
Great ways to heat up some water for tea when everyone else is asleep...
Tonight on the Esbit stove...
Maybe a week ago on the grill...
Still haven’t heard a word about this, and nothing on his website either.
Wow, great photos everyone. Stumbled upon this thread and got sucked into the void. Such great adventures, thanks for sharing!
Last response I got was around 3 weeks ago after emailing and sending a Dm on Instagram was.
"We are working on it!
So we will see. May have fell through who knows.
Sure like that SEREchete-WSK Hybrid! Question. Who did your leather for the tracker that you have? How does one get ahold of a SEREchete-WSK Hybrid? Thanks!
@Raven67 the SEREchete- WSK Hybrid is likely a one off... you can check it out at the PNW Gathering. I’ll be glad to answer any all questions there.
The Tops TBT1 is in a Badger Claw Leatherworks sheath. The rest are made by the makers of those versions of Tracker models.
Thanks ArmyMacE. I'll miss the PNW gathering due to work. I'll give Badgerclaw a shout.
photo and post not on topic .. here we show a specific model of equipment
I think I dropped some hints on the seige stove thread .....how cool it would be if they made a Soviet VDV styled mess kit in Ti..
I SOOO hope that's what HC & Keith have in mind .....would be freaking awesome being a blend of German kochgeschirr messkit and US style canteen cup ...but so you can nest a canteen in the middle !
Hopefully the ice is visible, it was 14 degrees when i crawled out of the hammock. New low for me...
Glad to see you finally got yourself one brother.
A good experiment would be to let it freeze solid. Would the seam split? Just curious.
at $155 a throw... you go first... lol!
Here is some science.
My nalgene was half full, in the front seat of the jeep (soft top)frozen solid, 64 ozstainless steel bottle 3/4 full, back seat of the jeep frozen solid, HC in a Helikon canteen carrier, completely full, in the cargo area, didnt freeze solid.
Nice info and pictures @Broke, glad you're enjoying your new toy, FWIW, it's 81 degrees here.
I keep forgetting the high price(keep wanting to forget)
At that price, the seem should not fail
Nope it's Begging Strips!
