Mmm "gooey" ducks? I go clamming When I visit my parents on the coast but we just find razor clams up here, although there are some of those pictured but they are not common. I have gotten pretty good at adjusting for their digging trajectory with a clam gun.

Welcome. I am from Cali too. I have a friend I tag along with on some trips for lobsters and clams. I just hate that you can't preserve them and after a long day on a boat plus the drive home, I don't always want to cook them. But, thry are fun and tasty. Abolones too.

    hello from the east coast.

We do a bit of clamming here on the CT coats. Quahogs, cherrystones, and my and my wifes favorites: steamers.
Some oysters to be had as well. They might even open up a recreational scallop season soon.

    nice to have you here.

They are geoduck one of the world’s largest clam. Very prized in Asia and west coast for their taste. Here is a great article about them:

    http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-33261666

I too go for spiny lobster down in San Diego/Ventura. I pretty much go for everything available in the west coast as far as seafood is concerned.

Here is some pics last November with me and some lobster:

Best thing is get some ocean water and dump them in a cooler, I usually keep my clams, lobsters, and crabs alive for a few days that way.

Hahaha nature made them that way:4:
