Does anyone ever read this sub forum?
seems kinda dead.
Anyone from the southern half of Illinois?
I am from near Chicago. Haven't lived there in years. But I'm considering a move to southern IL in the long term plan when I can get back on my feet (again). Maybe the Carbondale area, for university.
But I used to drive down to camp, backpack, etc in Shawnee National Forest of south IL when I was going to school in Urbana. It has some nice spots. Hoosier National Forest over in IN as well. Jefferson National Forest in MO is another place to consider depending on where exactly you are based out of.
Yeah, there are some nice spots down here for sure, just can't believe there are ant other southern Illinoisans active on this board.
There might be more. Lots of people pay more attention to the main boards, but don't notice these regional state side boards. I will let you know when I get settled again, it probably will be in southern Illinois. Good luck in the meantime. It must be nice enough to get out and grab dirt time in Southern IL by now. Here in Maine we are still getting fresh snow fall a couple days ago!!
Another 3 inches of snow yesterday in my part of Maine, more than that further north. More on the way. How're things in southern Illinois? Haha!
very wet, I work in agriculture and we are WAY behind. Had some warm days, I heard of a few morels being found.
You mean something south of the 80, right?
I like to say your in southern Illinois if your closer to Kentucky than Wisconsin.
Oh, the sanctuary counties that think they can escape the control of Cook county liberals?
Resistance is futile.
my statement was about geography, not political opinion or influence.
