Hey guys and gals, I'm in Hilton Head this week for work and I have Sunday afternoon and Wednesday afternoon off. Does anyone know any good wilderness areas here that I could spend an afternoon in? I didn't bring much in the way of a kit so I'm just looking for a day hike type of area.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

I heard owls and crickets too, thought I'd chime in if it isn't too late.

I did research on Pinkney Island NWR and it looks nice. over 20 miles in trails and more acerage than you can shake a stick at. I might have down time on my TDY next week so I plan on hitting it for a short hike.

Lots of skeeters/ticks, 'gators, cottonmouths, heat and humidity...other than that it's pretty nice...LOL

A drive up to Roanoake Island might be in order too. Not out in the bush, but real interesting.
