    Hello boys,

As promised some time ago, today it wold be the time for a nice and exclusive, home friendly Chef knife - a blade that keeps the right geometry and design yet it is a little smaller and lighter to adapt to passionate chef in any of us ;)

We have here a spectacular hammered San Mai blade with O2 core that is both impressive by look and extremely capable in cutting tasks. The handle of this knife is a very nice and hard to supply HT mulberry burl and a matching brass bolster. As a whole the knife looks archaic and rough yet it presents itself as fine blade with a spectacular appearance and great cutting power.

The blade is app 5.3" while the handle is app 3.75"

This guy will be sold on Auction and will start at 100 usd; the auction will end on Saturday the same hour it started ;)

All the best brothers, God bless,
    Bogdan

Really cool piece, @BogdanS! Are you experimenting more with Japanese style knives these days? I noticed that this is the second san mai piece that you listed recently. And the profile on this knife is very Japanese - like a small gyuto! Nice relative flat spot near the heel for chopping and even board contact, gentle curve toward the low pointy tip for slicing and detail work. It will make for an excellent chef knife for a home kitchen :dblthumb: Will be particularly good for shallot/onion, garlic, herbs, fruit, smaller veggies, and for portioning boneless protein. Basically everything a home cook could want! Best of luck with the auction my man.

I will bump up to $125. I'm in need of a new chef's knife, my VG10 knives just aren't quite doing it for me.
