I’m not the smartest tool in the shed. It’s 101 dog and I should be at the beach crotch deep in the ocean surf perch fishing.

Oh nooooooooo. Let’s get a pan rocket-hot repeatedly and wipe it with hot smoking oil. Man. I’m hot. I think I’m seasoned!

I did 4x and I’m tapped out. I drank a pint of ice water at each cycle. Haha.

I scrubbed the bejeebus out of the new pan, and seasoning really shows me how I could have scrubbed more.

I’ll let the pan cool and see how I feel about it. It’s a paella pan, do I don’t think I need a skating rink slick surface. I have forgotten how a new pan stinks when you first heat it up. Gross. Thankful I’m doing this with my bbq grill. Im not heating up my home. :)

I found the exact same pan at a antique store labeled as a gold mining pan. I had no ideaa what kind of pan it was when I picked it up for only $5 but I knew it sure wasnt a gold pan. I got it just for serving up eggs and hash as a serving dish. I thought mine was aluminum but its been awhile since I looked at it, who knows..maybe it is steel, i better have another look. I finally figured exactly what type of pan it was thanks to the miracle of Google.

    You stole that pan!

I got it for making paella. And to act as my roasting pan. I think I’m hosting turkey day this year. I just don’t like the square roasting pans. Very limited.

If you didn’t live across the country you could borrow the extra I have at the shop.

    I’m speechless.
(A few patches of my seasoning came off, but very little. The rice charred and didn’t stick).

Shipping hurt, but all together it was the best price.
