I'm not sure if this is a joke or for real--but it sure is the truth
I had packages with that on it... it was a real joke lol
That is too funny @werewolf won.
What brand is the Bacon?
One of my customers Black River Meats
In Springfield, Vermont?
That’s funny right there!
@highlander check this out!
Just another failure of the educational system...
Lots of people these days think microwave. My stepmom has that shelf stable "bacon" that you're supposed to put in the microwave. I told her she wasn't allowed to EVER call that stuff bacon.
I have to admit I've tried the chicken "bacon" version since my meat allergy and its tolerable on a sandwich....but bacon it aint!
Just label me a "flag wavin" fortunate son. I will be looking for that brand.
I never know what to say to people when they tell me I should try cooking bacon in the oven on a cookie tin.
Now I do!
Hornet black label had it for awhile
We’re mainly seafood, but do supply cold chain packaging to several provision companies and a lot of bio-pharmaceutical companies, worldwide.
Wait a minute, do you mean this is not taught in today's home ec classes? I am dumbfounded.
Do they have home economics in schools still?
Werewolf won, I have enjoyed and learned from your posts for years now. I have noticed that there value is always greater depending on the "hotness" of your avatar. Please keep up the good work. CH
My wife saw something on the Internet about baking bacon in the oven and had to try it out.
Not bad, I said as I started sampling it. She mentioned something about the pound of bacon was supposed to be for both of us.
Sure glad I saw this before I posted anything... that would have been embarrassing.
I like that a lot.
There's one I saw a while back about how to cook steak which essentially says, "Sometimes I just want to slap you!"
New Father’s Day socks came early.
Microwave???!!! No, no,nooo! Bacon must be cooked on IRON!
Anybody can fry naked but it takes a real man to forge naked!
Home ec... ec = ? Electronic childsitter?
Bacon a whole food group!
I was wondering where Black River Meats is located. I think there is on in Springfield, VT.
I'm sorry yes, they are in VT
this could turn into a real political diss-cussin!
our elected officials are doing everything they can as fast as they can to eliminate courses that actually teach the students to feed themselves manage their personal finances and to actually get a job(with the training provided by public education)
hushup old man b4 this turns ugly
I taught my sister's dog how to eat bacon...either he was a really fast learner, or I'm a really good teacher!!
My son in law discovered cooking bacon in the oven on a cookie sheet. I have to admit it made some really tasty bacon. He did that every morning during our last elk season in our cabin oven. It was great having him get up early every morning and have that crispy bacon ready. Nobody got hurt until upper management visited the cabin after the season and saw the condition of her oven. I couldn't understand all of the words she was using because she had her head in the oven scrubbing the artifacts of that crispy bacon. I was just thankful I wasn't responsible for the cookie sheet bacon, it was ugly enough.
So cooking bacon on a cookie sheet in the over can produce some great tasty crispy bacon, but it can have serious consequences depending on the standards of your individual upper management.
If you have a traeger or similar style of grill, that's a great way to cook bacon while avoiding kitchen messes.
I don't cook bacon inside any more. Traeger or over a fire.
Sorry I don't cook meats to a crisp, my body lives on living tissue ,not charcoal .
Methinks that the hip-thrust / anvil / hammer combo is a bad one. Better to leave room for the holy ghost, ya know?
So long as the oven is at about 350 and you're cooking with parchment paper under the bacon, I haven't noticed any mess at all in the oven. It's perfectly done in about 20 minutes and even and still flat. Just my experience. YMMV.
If you've been eating bacon at restaurants the odds are pretty good you've been eating oven cooked without knowing.
We have the hero that can fix this.
Funny! I wish more producers would put interesting things on their labels.
Here is how I cook bacon.
Cookie sheet with aluminum foil on it. Then wire cake cooling rack. 2 for a full size cookie sheet. Then bacon on the racks. Keeps it up out of the grease so it doesn't splatter all over the oven. Flip it over about 15 minutes into cooking. 350 deg. Can make it crispy or softer. Doesn't burn.
Excuse me, have to go to the kitchen now....
Family Studies and Shop are both optional high school credits here, but non-existent in our local elementary schools. (I'm speaking strictly of my neighbourhood. Not sure about elsewhere.) They were both on the curriculum when I went to school and I believe they should be again.
I prefer my bacon fairly evenly cooked, except the fat on the ends. But every time I see @CivilizationDropout on ig he has bacon hanging over the fire on a stick and I'm thinking I want some of that.
I think I meant @NWPrimate sorry.
I just pan fried some 1" slices and then added sliced Brussels sprouts and S&P. YUM!
Bacon is best baked.
Bacon is best fried.
Bacon is best grilled.
Bacon is best cooked.
I've been guilty from time to time but the top left monkey man is habitual...
bacon can be cooked?
I'm teaching my 16 year old son to cook bacon in the oven, as I type.
Not surprised by BR Produce/Meats. I was born in Springfield, VT...thank God I know how to cook bacon!
Now that's some artery clogging goodness right there, damned, got to get me some bacon today.
