Greetings, I stumbled upon this forum while searching for Map/Compass and Land Navigation. I did a little browsing on the forum here and found it to be very good and informational reading. Like most others on here, I have many interests related to the outdoors and for the past several months I have found myself drawn to map and compass navigation like bee's to honey! Last year I bought my first compass, Suunto M-3 baseplate compass and just a couple weeks ago purchased a Suunto M-2 mirrored compass to keep it company. Over the past year I have reached the point that I feel confident with taking bearings, plotting a course and triangulation. I find that I absolutely love the look and feel of having a topo map and compass in my hands. Anyway, I'll be on here reading mostly and gathering tips and learning from you guys and gals. Oh, and did I mention today I purchased an older Brunton Classic 9020 baseplate compass off ebay. Claims to be unused in original packaging with original paperwork and no bubble. It's the older late 80's early 90's model with green baseplate, USA made .
