I provided the music for a new artist’s gallery opening show last night. While setting up my rig I became amused at the tizzy the gallery workers had worked themselves into. They had candles to light and could not find a lighter or matches anywhere. I pulled out my wallet (where I keep waxed oil lamp wicks) and my SAK/ferro and saved the day. The gallery is situated between 2 private liberal arts colleges. By the end of the evening no few than 20 young men had asked me if I really did light the candles with no matches/lighter. They were in awe. And I’m having a cape tailor-made. Doc.
