Finally made the move to Maine. Wife and I have been saving and looking for a house for years, everything has finally come together and we found a very old house in the Midcoast area. We're thrilled to be here and we've been getting outside all the time. Been going fishing at lakes and ponds within five miles of the house. Except for the mosquitos, it's a paradise :)

Tonight I'll be going to the membership meeting at the Knox County Fish and Game so hopefully I'll be able to have a place to shoot the guns and bow. Any members here? I know it's a long shot, but there don't seem to be many ranges in the Knox county area.

Hello and welcome! Midcoast certainly is a beautiful area. I'm on my way to Rockport come this Sunday tto meet up with the grandkids for a little glamping. You found a range to shoot at? There's nothing around me. Had to find an old gravel pit that works just fine. The bloodsuckers are rather thick right now but they'll soon drop down to tolerable levels.

Kinda short notice but tomorrow at 11 am on Maine Public TV is a documentary called "In The Blood". A story about old time logging in the state. I stumbled on it last night. Very interesting with some great stories told by the old fellas about life in a logging camp.

Welcome to Maine. You’re practically next door to me. Four season paradise for sure.

Welcome, and don't forget the Maine State Ferry terminal in Rockland for a walk on scenic round trip thru the islands to Vinalhaven and see a real Maine working fishing village.

I grew up in PA and spent the past 11 years in FL. @bumma is a good guy to get info from. He's a fairly recent ME transplant and provided us with some info prior to our move as we were looking at NH & ME.
