Without realizing it I seem to have started down the stove/ cookset rabbit hole. Been trying a lot of one pot meal recipes. Just when I think I have the perfect setup,I read a new thread on here and an Amazon box appears on my doorstep.....
Compared to some of the Collections I have seen on here, there could be no end to it.

This is EXACTLY how it starts. You get a set, then you see a bigger one. So you buy it. And then you realize you wanted KIND OF a smaller one, but KIND OF bigger than your first one. And so on, so on, ad infinitum.

It took me a long time but I finally gave up on cook sets there is no perfect one.
Now I just resist the temptation and use what I got.

Only goes down hill from where you are and there seems to be no cure, sure you think you have it under control and then you see another kit that may be just a tad better at some task and before you know it you are back off the wagon. It does not help that there are so many stoves and cook kits in each category ... Gas, alcohol, wood and canister ... Aluminum, Stainless and then the mighty TI addiction. Then you discover the beauty of classic camp stoves and thats another rabbit hole... Nope your infected no escape !

Back when I was guiding the Adirondacks (2003-2008)this was my entire cookset, along with my MSR whisper light. Most hikes were 3 days 2 nights and canoe trips were 5 days 4 nights. Don’t remember going hungry or having insufficient gear. Of course my internet was dial up and didn’t have this forum....

Okay, here is the trick. Get a journal just for cooking. Plan a meal and figure out every thing your need to cook it.

Now go into the back yard and cook it. Write every thing down, what went rigiht, went wrong, what did you wish that you had. Repeat a dozen times.

Once this is done yet now have written out what you might need for a well rounded cook kit.

Now comes the hard part. Be content with what you have.

    nice beginning

as you already pointed out the Amazon box just appeared...

the sickness is the kind that multiplies by it's self geometrically

darn little that can be done for it :-(

howsumever... you will eventually realize that there is no set made or sold that will meet all your needs/desires

if you are like most of us you will end up w/ bits n pieces from several store boughten "sets" to achieve YOUR ultimate set

    the rabbit hole is DEEP

give strong consideration to following freebirdfb's suggestion and adapt pieces you already own to make your set fit/work...

and do it before you get like me w/ 2 ocean shipping containers full of sets n kits n pieces n parts n ... n ... stuff

You are OK!, there are no knives in the pictures so you will survive. Just do not look at sharp stuff. Knives are VERY addictive worse than Lays potato chips.

No sir there is no remission it is still lurking closeby, and ir cost a lot more than a bag of them chips, just ask me how I know. Well ok I'll tell ya, they have this thing they just started called the blind knife trade, where you send someone a knife and they send you one . Well sir now I'm hooked on free knives. The thing that worries me is when I pass on my wife will try to sell them for what I told her I paid for them.

This is pretty much true for all pieces of gear. I should repeat this like a mantra.

Must have 6 or 7 cook pot sets I've collected over the years and I still check out pots in gear shops, flea markets, goodwill,....

And those darn cold handle pans...

And cast iron skillets - it's like people just throw them out the number I see in 2nd hand stores for dirt cheap.

I would say let’s see @Spork ’s collection but aerial photography is pretty expensive. Although is he knows when the google earth satellite is passing by we could get a good shot...

Oh I am …. Content with what I have.

It's just that I don't seem to be able to find the mains socket to plug in my Ninja Foodi in the middle of nowhere/somewhere AND it's a bit on the large/heavy side to fit/carry in my Rucksack!!

    Just sayin!

I think you are off to a good start. :)

Is that a Pathfinder canteen on the right side of the picture? If so, what is your opinion of it?

Yep,but only had it a couple of weeks. Never used a canteen cup before so it takes some getting used to. I will give it a few more try’s before giving a verdict..

Oh I hear ya man. I bought five Coleman 550B's NIB last month or so because they were $16 each. Today I bought five brass kerosene stoves. You my friend have stovepox. There is no cure. Just enjoy it ;). The worst part is I have just over $500 in one of my stove/cook kit sets and still "need" another $100 bowl for it. I'm still eyeballing a $400 kettle for my Primus No. 5 :4:(https://www.richmondkettlecompany.com/product/richmond-beehive-no-10-copper-for-gas/).

    This was today's affliction

@NevadaBlue I have a 1972/1973 Svea 123R already lol and the silent burner cap for it. That's how you know it's bad...when you start buying additional burners for each of the stoves not to mention a ton of spare parts just in case they run out lol. I love the kero stoves the most and will most likely only get a 111T sometime in the future though.
