Anyone know of a cabin that can be rented June 31 through Jul 3 for 2 nights in the New England area on the water where you can swim, with a dock (floating or otherwise where kids can jump into the water), bathrooms, fire pit, close enough to a town with some interesting places and maybe some interesting shops? Preferably within a 3 hour drive of Sturbridge MA? Oh and also somewhat private, as in cant see other cabins or houses from the cabin? 4 people. I've been looking but haven't been able to find much.

Oh yeah, needs electricity also... doesnt need internet.

Grand Isle State Park checks some of those boxes. It used to be a private resort.

They mostly have premium Adirondack shelters, but they do have 4 cabins.

The sites are fairly private, but you might occasionally see or hear people.

I wouldn't book anything but a water front site.

There isn't a dock, but there is a rocky beach. Ausable Canyon is an hour away.

Burlington, VT has lots to do.

It's 4 hours away from Sturbridge... but it is worth the drive for the mild temperatures and the wind off the lake during the summer heat.

The Lake George area is nice too and bit closer. Fort Ticonderoga isn't too far away.

I feel like internet and cabin shouldn't exist in the same sentence lol.

Well, some people have cabins they rent that are more like houses in more developed areas. I don't really care where it is as long as it's lake side and private enough I dont have to see people while relaxing in a chair outside.

Thanks, been searching those for a while... many of the options that come up are not on the water. I don't really want to deal with a public or group beach. Preference is to be able to sit by the fire and watch the kids jump in the water... yep I'm lazy I know.

So similar to this but not with other places so close

Seems to me there was a website called "adirondacks by owner" or similar, that offered cabin listings. Any realtor in the area could help you out.

Thanks, I tried them already. The only place I saw that they matched me with was nearly 2K a week with a minimum stay longer than I am able to stay.

Highland Lake in Stoddard, NH is really nice. My uncle has a place there. He doesn't rent, as he is there almost all summer, but many on the lake do. There are several lakes in that area of NH, too. And cabins along the Saco River are easy enough to find as well. Happy Hunting!
