Never thought I'd like a knife with jigged scales. Always thought they looked kinda chintzy.

But seeing this set made me change my mind. Friend of mine made the knife. He said the company that made this set of jigged scales is long gone. He saved them thinking they'd eventually find the right knife.

How durable are they. Not so much for bushcrafting...more like hunting usage...

Bone wears very well and will only look and feel better with age. However, dropped onto a hard surface it can crack, split or shatter. I love it on a pocket knife, yet never had the pleasure of using it on a fixed blade. Wouldn't hesitate either.

Knife makers have been jigging bone a long time. Go and look at some old Case knives.
    It will serve well.

Beautiful @Gizamo. I know he's doing his own sheaths, is he doing his own engraving now as well?

That's a beautiful knife! I have an old stockman with jigged bone scales and I love it. It's probably 30-40 years old, and still givin'er.
