our offer was just accepted for a house in lancaster. (sadly, yes, IN lancaster, but better than the ghetto!) the good news is that it should cut my time to wayne in half, so i'm definitely not complaining!

just curious, since i know columbus is FLOODED with folks, if there were any of our fine folks down lancaster way!

Lived in Lancaster for eleven years, now in Canal Winchester just south of Chestnut Ridge.

Not too far from me, I also have a few friends in Lancaster. You are talking So. California, correct?

I lived outside Lancaster for years until I got a chance to book it for the wilds of Maine. Just throw tomahawks in your backyard, the grapevine will have like minded people crawling out from under rocks.

that's not too far from work for me! i'm working over in groveport.

sorry, took it for granted posting in the ohio forum, but i meant lancaster ohio.

sounds about right for me! one of the things i said to my wife about moving was that i might not be able to practice throwing knives or hawks, or my archery, in the backyard anymore. her response was, why not?? lol.

Lived and worked in/around Lancaster for 20+ years. My boy @Christian B. lives with his mom there still. I'm down that way more than I'm in Columbus! Beautiful area and lots to do. Many good spots nearby to get away, some JUST outside of town. Think you'll be much happier there than your current location.
Just remember to add the unwritten "g" when saying Lancaster..... you don't wanna be an "outsider"! It's "Lang-kiss-ter" not "Lan-cast-er" ;):)

I'm in Athens right now, moving to Glouster in the spring, so I'm just a little south of you.

Congratulations! There's nothing like home ownership to make you appreciate when you could call the landlord when something needed to be fixed!

Hope you got some yard to have some fun but not so much it takes all your bushcraft time tending it.

Here's a link to Lancaster parks:
    https://www.ci.lancaster.oh.us/256/Park-Maps
Unfortunately, the maps are Google and don't show much trail info. I've spend a little time In Rising Park and did programs for NWTF Women in the Outdoors "back in the day" at Alley Park and Keller-Kim. Alley was the nicer setting, but I didn't have any explore time.

Just southwest of town on Rt 22 and Beck's Knob road is Shallenberger State Nature Preserve. Not very big, but a nice view from the top. Just watch out for the dead ash trees if the wind is blowing!
