    Been playing in forging these tips...made some more but not happy with them...this one turned out nice. Just the right weight for balance and size. From research it looks like there were different styles having some longer ones and some like this. Tips were usually this way or had a more pronounced arrowhead and then wider back part and narrowing down again. Used artificial sinew.

    Nice job! By the size I'm guessing for throwing over stabbing. Did they use a atlatl or just toss them? Very cool!:dblthumb:

    yeah, think they threw them mostly; didn't see the atlatl but it surely could be old enough to be used by them. could be because I was just researching their spears. I have a nice bow target that is good to practice these with. Doesn't bother my shoulder like the atlatl does.

    Atlatl technology never took hold in Africa interestingly enough. It's the only continent with no record of its use.
