    This came in just a few hours ago.

    I’m continuously blown away by the quality of knives LT puts out!
    Just consistently high quality stuff leaving that shop!

    For being a 9” knife, it feels more nimble in the hand than it should be. A 3/32” blade stock makes this a cutting light saber!

    “The Hidden Woodsmen” Knife.

    * AEB-L Stainless Steel.
    * 4 1/4” Blade.
    * 4 5/8” Handle.
    * 3/32” Blade Stock.
    * Pinecone Resin Scales W/Micarta Bolsters.

    Recent rescale of a Winkler II “Spike” knife.

    First photo are original maple scales, grip way too thin at 16mm thickness.

    Second photo depicts new snake wood scales, grip now perfect at 22mm thickness.

    @voortrekker , that's a MASSIVE improvement. If you have any pics showing the before and after thickness of the grip that'd really highlight the metamorphosis.

    That looks great! I agree these are made to a very high quality level. I might have to start collecting these as I like that pinecone and the Fowler orange. Mine hasn’t gotten much use yet, but I plan to change that soon.

    How do you like the laser etching?

    Thanks my friend! @Kona9
    These are are definitely top tier blades!

    While the laser etching looks good, I still much prefer a stamped logo. The etching will eventually all but fade with use/time.
    I have an AA Forge knife with the laser etching about 90% gone and barely visible.
    I may be wrong, but I just don’t think the laser etching can get deep enough to stay for the long haul.

    Knife rescue project. I spent all evening yesterday trying to blue this knife. Turns out it's Nitro V, lol. Replaced the scales with Green G10 and Purple liners.

    I really wanted Purples Scales, and green liners, but couldn't find any in G10. Oh well.

    Front bolster area is good to go, now I just have to match the spine to the scales. We are all glued up with G-Flex and it's secured with Stainless Corby bolts.

    I suck at this, but I figured the only way to know if the handle was worth a darn was to sit down for an hour and crank away at this piece of mulberry (or spruce, not sure).
    The knife performed like a champ, still shaves arm hair, no sign of any changes to the edge whatsoever.
    No hot spots, great leverage... I think this'll do just fine.

    @Ptpalpha
    Did you add that spacer/handle extension to the knife?
    Either way, I like this little thing!

    Sorry if I missed it, but what is the steel on this?

    Edit To Add:
    Ok I think I figured it out lol, you received the knife as the pictured length, but you added the finger grooves?

    AS Mountaineer W/ a custom firesteel I made a while back.

    This was the first time I used modeling clay to make a firesteel handle.
    I had a couple of people ask how I make my resin firesteels so I’ll share how I made this particular one.
    (The jist of it at least).

    1. Purchased some oven bake/hardening clay.

    2. Hand sculpt desired handle shape, then bake in oven to harden.

    3. Make a silicone mold out of newly hardened shape, let silicone cure.

    4. Once silicone mold is cured, add liquid resin into the mold & let cure (Color possibilities are endless!)

    5. Remove casting and drill hole for firesteel.

    6. Make a fire & enjoy! :dblthumb::D

    The knife came with the finger grooves from Michael, I added the backspacer to lengthen the handle and installed the micarta scales. Steel is Z-Wear.
    I really like it.
    Edit: normally I'm not a big fan of finger grooves, but on this knife they just work. Michael did a fantastic job on the design.

    Well my friend, you did an amazing job on your knife!!

    I’m not a big fan of finger grooves either, but on smaller knives they just plane work great!

    Z-Wear is a beast of a steel! I only have x1 knife with said steel and I love using it!

    My kit for the weekend. I was able to carve a spoon rest with the Moras and the Squad Leader, and chopped some logs with the Crusader for a fire later in the day. Unfortunately I hit the edge of the Crusader on a metal fire ring, putting two ugly dents on it :17: Contacted Bark River and shipped it for a Spa treatment - they received it today (8/19/19), so I hope it won’t be long before I get it back. That baton on the upper left is a beast too, a perfect match to the Crusader.
