Hey all. Jazilla, a fellow member who also inhabits HammockForums, is helping put together the 3rd Louisiana Hammock Hang at the Kincaid Lake Recreation Area near Alexandria, LA from 7-10 Nov (9/10 is the weekend). The Cajun microwave (cochon de lait), jambalaya, and probably some other good eats will be there as well. Here's the thread if you want details. The location is likely NEAR where we did it last year, but closer to "civilization" as some spouses have requested water/electricity/showers (and it makes it MUCH easier to cook and clean up.) Several of us from BCUSA showed up last year, and were made very welcome by our hammocking brethren, so don't think it's a hammock-only thing... If you're available, please come. The food alone is worth it, let alone the camaraderie and learning.

There's the link to the thread at hammock forums.

I'll mark it down. Sounds like a good time, and a chance to meet some new folks.

She is cool with it. We are about 90% right now. Allen is having back surgery for a ruptured disc the first week of October so we are making plans to go but may have to change them at the last minute depending on his recovery.

    At least you have work...

Opening day of bow season is tomorrow... I'm looking at the weather, and it's supposed to be cooler (73) but rainy... back up to 84 on Sunday. Humidity and skeeters will be through the roof... oh well... hopefully some venison will make up for it.

That is was. Someone posted up some good pics over on hammock forums. I stole a couple of me in my bushchair, which was apparently pretty novel to some folks... here's one, with Chicken Wing messing with the dirty rice. Lots of other good food too... Roast pig, King Cake, gumbo, dirty rice, dutch oven desserts, beans and bacon...

Looks like we missed a good one. At least we had some representation! We had to cancel at the last minute. Oh well, hopefully next year we will be there.
