Leather pouch PSK & IFAK and Survival Metrics review A lot of guys like to carry bushcraft belt kits, I'm one of them. There's nothing like a leather pouch kit. Quick release drop pouch configuration fits under a backpack hipbelt. My leather kits suffered from rain, snow and extreme weather conditions. I went to use my IFAK and found everything ruined and useless from some forgotten rainy trip, the Band-aids lost their stick, the tape as well, various med's were contaminated from getting wet. Lesson learned -- check and update your kits frequently, don't wait for an emergency to look inside your IFAK. Having tried zip-locs and Aloksaks, and other plastic resealable style bags, I put out the search for something more rugged, likle a micro-size dry bag. Something that would be a liner for my leather pouches. I found these nylon pouches at Survival Metrics.com they weigh next to nothing, material is "nearly" waterproof, zippers as well. I filled them with water to see if they leak, the only leak is where the two zipper sliders meet. Good enough for my purposes, I'm not risking submersion on a canoe trip. Now my belt kits stay dry although I do check them after rainy outings. Three sizes fit just right in my pouches. Quality is excellent, these have held up for me with zero issues. Prices are reasonable. I ordered online and they arrived in 48 hours. Nice, friendly people to deal with. My IFAK fits inside a vintage Hunter ammo pouch with Survival Metrics liner. IFAK contents, now protected from wet weather. Swiss Army pouches. French army pouches. Various US made ammo pouches.
