Dad and I had been planning a little outing for this morning with the main purpose being to test out some gear and explore a different area of public land close by.

Woke up this morning to fresh snow on the ground and more in the air. All the better! Fairly calm and 28° made for some beautiful hiking weather.

We made camp on a ridge overlooking the lake and lunched on hot tea and a mountain house meal while enjoying the first real snow we've had this winter.

That looks like a really nice outing.

I don't know what it is, but seeing a revolver carried like that in the woods always puts a smile on my face. Just wish I could do that here. :(

Looks like fun. I must go out again soon.

    I like those handgun rigs.

    Thanks!
Mine is a S&W 69 carried in a Simply Rugged rig, and Dad is wearing a S&W 66 in a Diamond D Guide's Choice rig. This was my first outing with that holster rig, and I have to say I was somewhat disappointed. It flopped around more than I'd prefer. May just need some more adjustment.

Thanks! I like the look of Dad’s rig. Gotta go look that one up. I don’t like floppy holsters either.

Excellent post! I went for a walk the other night and decided that I need another shoulder rig. :)
