    Good example of a bi-partisan effort

    “This package includes numerous important provisions that will enhance conservation, recreation, and hunting, fishing and shooting opportunities for sportsmen on federal lands”

    I’m always skeptical, but that sounds great. Hardly any opposition on that one. :dblthumb:

    Thanks for posting!

    Pretty vague description... every time I see these words from the .gov I cringe. It normally means less access and less use and less people can be involved.

    “enhance public access to public lands for hunting and other recreation and to conserve special landscapes, rivers and habitats. “

    Conserve special landscapes? Meaning make them into areas we can’t go?

    I wrote both my senators (one dem, one rep) and thanked them for their work on this

    Pleasantly got a response back from each- probably staffers, but still :)

    @NevadaBlue

    the .gov site is vague, better to look what projects have been funded in the past- just locally here, there have been a bunch

    new trails, new easements, new acquisitions- all used quite extensively

    I trust YOUR judgement, but I don’t trust the .gov. I have lived where private land became public and much less accessible. I hate to see that happen.

    The fund mainly collects a fee from offshore oil exploration and uses the money to expand and improve *public* lands. Been in place for decades and has done a lot of good work. This is merely a renewal of that program. Nobody is losing access to public land because of this. Quite the opposite. It's a good thing. That's why it got strong bipartisan support.
