My sister is visiting from out of state and her flight returns on Saturday 1-18 out of BWI. Its an early flight so I may head to the camp from the airport for the day or stay overnight Saturday. I will update when I know for sure either way. It would be my 11yr old Son and myself.

    Scott,
Are we going to be in the same location as last year? A quick reminder of the site # for parking would also be appreciated. Lookinmg forward to seeing the Gang again. Be safe

    Hey Bob,

Yep, same site as last winter. I believe and will check, that it was site #10 where we parked at the trailhead. My son, Zig the BCD and I plan on being there early afternoon on Friday. I will post more details closer in.

    1. Scott Allen, D.J., Skyler (if the weather isn't too bad), and Zig the Bushcraft Dog
    2. CrazySanMan +1+ (Saturday day only)
    3. Lerxst2112 and Cassidy

    5. Reedrick

I'll post maps and instructions shortly for those who haven't been. For those who are planning on attending and haven't signed up, please do so that I can get us registered at the Park HQ. It is $10 a night for up to 6 folks and $1 per person after that. If I have a complete list, I'll go ahead and register for all of us and then you all can reimburse me.

That's the plan right now Brian. I'll have 3 peeps and a dog to keep warm and dry, so that seems the best solution.

Okay all. Here are the directions:

From I-68, take the exit for Fifteen Mile Creek Rd. (exit #62). Head north and make sure that you stay on Fifteen Mile Creek Rd. (you actually have to make a left turn shortly after leaving the interstate or you will end up on Route 40). If you pass signs for the range, you have gone too far. Keep going up Fifteen Mile Creek Rd. until you come to Double Pine Rd. (the second left). Be advised the roads in Green Ridge can get rutted and slick in the winter. Drive in about a mile to Site #10, which is the first site that you come to on the left. Park there and you will see the trail head and a gate. Head down the mountain (approximately 1 mile) to the bottom and you will come to the Adirondack Shelter and a small field. You're there! There is a creek from which you can get water to filter or boil and fish if so inclined. We like to bring food specialties and favorite wobble water to share, so plan accordingly. If you have a skill you'd like to pass along, we would be happy to learn. If you have any more questions, PM me and I'll try to answer them.

Here's a map. Our area in in the NW corner

Hi everyone. I hope you all made it home safely and have thawed out. Thank You all for having Jack and I we enjoyed meeting you all and look forward to another camp out.

If you all are interested in a camp/hike weekend in the spring Jack and I will likely go to Matthews Arm campground in Shenandoah National Park. They have two nice group areas at the back of the campground at the trail head to Overall Run Falls. Overall Run Falls is the tallest waterfall in the park at 103' and is a nice hike from the campground. just a suggestion for another place to meet for a camp out. The campground is about 25 miles into the park from the north entrance at Front Royal VA.

Glad to know everyone made it back safe. Anyone heard from Santa? I will have pictures posted soon. I have to say the girls were real troopers. I found out when I got home (the second time) that Skyler had contracted Strep. She would have stayed otherwise.

Glenn, take your idea and run with it. We'll show up! Let me know if you need any help.

Strep is nothing to mess with, especially with young'uns, hope she gets well soon. May I suggest a pic thread on the main forum, if we post here, most folks on the forums wont see them as I don't think the subforum updates posts to the main portal.........I think, LoL. Take Care Scott! and thanks.
