I got inspired today by a post @hicountry put up. He is selling some very cool old surplus items. https://bushcraftusa.com/forum/threads/swiss-army-items.198414/ I bought one of each. But, I am really stoked about the twin roll of wire and waxed jute. I decided to make a smaller version. I started with a business card sized piece of OD green Kydex and used a 3/8" spade bit to make 3 sets of notches. I then wrapped waxed jute, brass snare wire, and 200lbs Tecnora line around it. Worked pretty slick. I also added some Ranger Bands to keep stuff in place. Because I can never leave well enough alone, I opted to add some other essentials to this compact kit. So now I have fire, signaling, a couple of cutting tools, and improvising materials in a very light and small package.
