OK ladies and gents, this is the knife I built for the pass around. During the making I messed up and there is a small blemish on the blade.
    [IMG]Model 5 by tgstilwell80, on Flickr
That happened while I was tapering the scales down in the front. The 240 or 220grit belt, ate through the wrapping I had on the blade and made a very tiny spot there, as you can see.
The question is would you prefer I list this one for sale as a blemish and make another, or get on to the pass around and a chance at a free knife? This blemish will not affect the use of the knife at all, you nearly have to used a finger nail to feel it.

Here are some pictures of the rest of the knife. I haven't marked it with my mark yet.

If your interested let me know. I'm thinking the pass around will be five people, 2 weeks each. Be supporters of the forum, Moderators are exempt of that requirement for the work they do for us. For our Canadian bros or sisters, we would have to figure out shipping.

Ill leave it up until end of this coming week, if no votes to go ahead with the pass around, then I'll list it for sale.
    Thanks for looking and responding
    God bless
    Terry

as a pass around beater, that little smudge isn't gonna make a difference. go ahead & use that 1. it's gonna get dirty & scratched up anyway, right? :dblthumb:

Thanks for the replies. Outthere this will become the sign up thread if there is enough interest in it, so you are down.

I'm expecting a thorough use and testing of normal woods knife type stuff from anyone that wants in. Split wood fire, carving, notching, food prep, shelter building and stuff like that.
No bending in a vise lol that is for me to do to other knives. lol

I vote use that as the passaround. Cosmetics don't matter as much as function. The purpose of the PAR is to let people see how your knives function and write a review on them. Send this puppy around and I'd LOVE to be included in the pass around if possible. That looks like one heck of a knife. The handles look really comfortable and despite the blemish I think its a beautiful blade.

I would love to get i on a pass around. I have never used this blade profile before. Only problem is I am not worth a sh*t with videos. If I can do a written review I would like to be in on this.

I vote pass it around. I'm not likely to be able to afford something like this so a chance to use one would be great. A small mark won't affect its usage anyway.

Thanks for the replies fellas. gdpolk Ill keep you in there. Gii shi kan dug, video isn't mandatory though it would be encouraged and appreciated for action stuff only if you didn't want to talk. Pictures are however mandatory. hehe. Let me know Ill keep you in mind. I haven't hammered out all the guidelines I want to have, but it won't be anything overly onerous.
Drift, brother you would need at least 100 useful and contributing posts to be in on the pass around. However as a supporter there will be something you can get in on in a week or so stick around and welcome out of lurksville. (noticed you'd been a member for two years.)
Thanks Michael, I appreciate it bro.

Thanks. May I be last in line to get it whenever it goes around. I was recently diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and the home is a little hectic working out mandatory diet/lifestyle/treatment changes right now. So, a few weeks to let the front line settle down would be preferred.

No worries there. Just wish it was posted as a requirement as I would not have responded.

Be glad to have you man.

    Sure thing.

My apologies Drift you are correct it should have been posted; However, if you hadn't responded you wouldn't have found out to keep an eye open in the coming weeks for something you can get in on.
    Apologies again friend.

Going to try and get the sheath cut out tonight and started putting it together tomorrow. Missing one more person for the pass around.
Thanks man, shouldn't be to long before it starts getting used.

This is still on, sorry for the lack of an update in the past few days, my wife is in the hospital on bed rest, (water broke at 32weeks) they are trying to keep the baby in as long as possible. Unfortunately she is over an hour away, so we and our kiddos are struggling to adjust to having her so far away and getting a routine set up.
I will be working on the sheath for this knife as much as I can after the kids are asleep tonight and tomorrow, hopefully it will be finished by Monday or Tuesday, and we can get this ball rolling.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.
    God bless

Bro, the pass around is full up.
We can see about something else though since you aren't to terribly far away.

Just to let you guys know I haven't forgotten this and will be getting ready to start it up soon. Wife's hospital stay and having a new baby in the house now has thrown my few collected wits to the wind hehe. Ill be sending Pm's to the guys that wanted in originally to make sure they are still in, and able to participate.
    Thanks
    Terry

    I say pass it around,

Beautiful blade, a little scratch won't hurt anything and there will be plenty more when it's through.
