First, I would like to thank @MrFixIt for the opportunity to win this box and his generosity. Second, I would like to thank all forum members for making this place one of the single best places on the internet. I have been a member of many forums, but I have not seen anything near the level of camaraderie, generosity, and overall family feeling as I do on this site. Today the USPS sent me a notification that my package from the GAW @MrFixIt recently held was delivered. I excitedly pulled on my shoes and went out to find the package. I picked it up and hurriedly rush back in to check the contents. I quickly cut open the box and pried open the lid.

This is what I found inside:
    20190816_111632.jpg
I am excited to try out the Baddest Bee Fire Fuses. I have mentioned on this forum before that my brother bought me a pocket bellows from the same company a few years back. Admittedly, at first I thought it was gimmicky, but after I tested it out it quickly earned a place in my go to fire kit. I also like the silicone "lip protector" on the cup. I don't think I have ever seen one of those. No more scorched lips when I am too eager to drink my coffee. Thank you again @MrFixIt. Rest assured that all of this will find a way into one of my many kits.

All this generosity has inspired me. I am cooking up a little GAW of my own. I have a few ideas of items that could be included. Keep an eye out this fall for that.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m just paying it forward.
And @Beard-O , you are probably the first person to get a box from me that did not include authentic JAWJUH PHATWOOD in it!
As soon as the weather cools down I’ll remedy that.

Great giveaway and congrats Beard-o. I feel pretty sure that there will be more Jawjuh Phatwud in the near future and that it is not running out that quickly!!

I don't think Dad's Army made it to the USA, so maybe some explanation required. From Wikipedia "Dad's Army is a BBC television sitcom about the British Home Guard during the Second World War. It was written by Jimmy Perry and David Croft, and broadcast on the BBC from 1968 to 1977. The sitcom ran for nine series and 80 episodes in total; there was also a radio version based on the television scripts, a feature film and a stage show. The series regularly gained audiences of 18 million viewers, and is still repeated worldwide."

One of the characters (Private Frazer) was a very dour Scotsman who was also the local undertaker and his catchphrase was "We're doomed. Doomed!". Well worth a watch if you want to enjoy a good comedy, but do be aware that some language may not be as politically correct as expected nowadays (No N-word bad, but maybe some less than proper terminology for today). You have been warned so do not search for it or watch it, if you are easily offended. The particular term I am thinking of is actually mentioned in the first paragraph of the "Origins" section of the Wikipedia entry for Dad's Army so may not be as bad as I perhaps thought it may be!

Just goes to show that "They don't like it up 'em" and I'm not just a "Stupid Boy" :4:! Great link BTW and a damn good read, what. The Imperial War Museum certainly has a pretty good site and a lot of great info there. I actually visited the museum back in my youth (before home computers and the internet) and was impressed with its displays even then.

So pip, pip, tally-ho and all that for now ;)

    hello,
@oddjob35 I say old chap, isn't that really spiffing what?? the BBC did a series on the "real" Dad's Army & its clandestine warfare role if Britain was invaded. I was dealing with the Imperial War museum recently & given access to some rare film footage at present being processed for display. :)
    Regards chin chin...

BEEEEEEEES!!!!!! My favorite easy to carry, all-weather, emergency fire starter. Let us know what you think! Just remember to fluff up the end. :)

And try pulling a whole one (or two) apart, shred it really, reeeeally fine, make it into a birds nest, and then hit it with a spark. POOF!

    Good on ya, @MrFixIt !
