Found this picture of myself with my mom and little sister about to head out hiking. I have my first SAK around my neck. I must have been 7 or 8 at the time. I'm sure I got PLENTY of use out of that knife. :)

Unfortunately not. I was not a super responsible kid when it came to keeping and maintaining "things". I have since learned to take care of my stuff. :)

As for the beard, it seems that over the subsequent 30 odd years all of the hair on my head has slowly migrated to my chin. :D

Dad always said "Why cultivate on your head what grows wild on your arse?"
Where was the photo taken? Looks a bit like Mt. Edith Cavell in Jasper (to my dim memory).
I would have been working in Alberta around that same time.

That's the Ribbon Creek parking lot in Kananaskis. I can see the similarity to Cavell though. :)

No idea. I'm sure when I had it I was just super excited to have a knife. I'm almost positive my Mom would still have hers from the 70s though. I should see if I can find it and figure out which model hers is. I can't remember a hiking trip when she didn't pull it out to cut meat or cheese with for lunch.
